by William D'Angelo , posted on 29 January 2015 / 9,963 Views

Microsoft announced earlier this week they shipped 6.6 million Xbox consoles, the Xbox One and Xbox 360 combined, during the holiday quarter. The Xbox One console has now sold more than 11 million units worldwide, according to the latest VGChartz sales data.

The Xbox One sold 121,862 units worldwide for the week ending January 10, 2015, to bring lifetime sales to 11,091,819 units. There has also been 49.49 million games sold for the Xbox One at retail. Microsoft accounts for 9.42 million of the games sold.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is the bestselling Xbox One game with sales of 4.10 million units. Destiny has sold 2.53 million units, Titanfall has sold 2.51 million units and Assassin's Creed: Unity has sold 2.47 million units.

That would be good....if PS4 didn't exist. It's all about the sloppy seconds for XBOX!

Better then PS3 being last place for the majority of the generation. Xbox fans have it pretty sweet now :)

Well to be fair now, they're not in last place anymore. Regardless if they were in last place for a good chunk of last gen.

@Mr. Puggsly, don't let one person make you hate an entire company. There are a lot of PlayStation radicals out there. At the same time, Xbox has just as many.

Sony doesn't need to lower the price to sell almost twice of the Xbone, but I bet with anyone here that Sony will eventually drop the price this year to the same 350$ and that will be the final blow on Xbone.

LOL there won't be a final blow to Xbox, that's only in your dreams.

Ok.......dont see how that takes away from Xbox 1 selling decent and being an overall great console.

But kudos.......aren't you guys supposed to be buying Minecraft on PS4 and giving MS your money?????

Sorry, but I called "BS" on this. Xbox One is overtracked by far. I also think Microsoft has kept silent on their sales because the sales aren't as good as what sites like VG Chartz is tracking.

Xbox One was at 7 million at the start of November. Microsoft announced they were near 10 million shipped.

So VG Chartz is saying Xbox One sold 4 million in two months? I have call bogus.

AMD announced that Xbox One and PS4 have shipped 30 million combined. I believe AMD because they make the chips in each console and it would be dumb to think AMD is lying because it would be illegal for AMD to lie about sales .

We know the PS4 is at 18.5 million from confirmed numbers.

That leaves 11.5 million divided between, PS4s still on shelves, Xbox Ones still on shelves, and Xbox Ones in consumer hands.

If we go by VG Chartz, that means only 500,000 PS4s and Xbox Ones combined, are still sitting on shelves worldwide. That is complete bogus.

I could be wrong but I think Xbox One is probably between 9 and 10 million which would make much more sense.

I also think the USA and Europe weekly sales for January are way off as well. The PS4 has been selling better than Xbox One on Amazon for the entire month. The PS4 has also been leading at Gamestop for the majority of the month.

Actually, MS recently announced sales figures, and they revealed that VGC is overtracking X1.

  • +5

Actually, sales are sport on! If they weren't, vgchartz would "adjust them" to make them seem accurate. So I call BS on your comment!

Insidb Punishment (on 29 January 2015)

They are actually overtracked:
3.08M (2013 VGC estimate) +
7.68M (2014 MS announcement) +
0.12M (1/10 Week VGC estimate) =
10.88M

No you are right, vgchartz probably overtrack the Xone numbers a lot (you just need to look the last charts...it's ridiculous).
Neogaf think the Xone sold a little less than 10 million at the end of the year, and they're more reliable than vgchartz (it's because of them we got npd numbers), so vgchartz probably overtrack the Xone by 800k.

No X1 numbers are spot on, the decline is mostly on X360 sales.

Dark, they are VERY close (98% accurate), but they are overtracked.

wyluzuj Punishment (on 30 January 2015)

We don't know for sure since MS gives only shipped numbers of "xbox family" means x360 and Xbox One together. But one is clear the Xbox One numbers can't be as good because otherwise thy would release instead of hiding them. Shipped is one thing, sold through is the other and MS seems to be ashamed of the "sold through" numbers so they never release them.

btw. of course is the Xbox One over tracked, VGchartz is an US site :)

I can't help but sigh at how pro Sony this place has gotten, can't say there's any point in posting anything about Nintendo or Microsoft since it;s 100% going to be downplayed or shat on.

Disappointing to see bad console like this selling and nobody of the owners buy the only good game: Sun Set Overdrive and that even cost only 29,99 Dollars

desosav mertyville (on 30 January 2015)

i guess you never played games like Ryse, Forza, Halo, titanfall, D4, Dead Rising. Sunset overdrive is great indeed but there are many great games for X1.

Good job! Xbox one will probably reach over 20 million this year.

  • -2
MastermindPT super6646 (on 29 January 2015)

Xbone barely passed 10 millions till now PS4 is about to sell 20 millions, so if Xbone reaches 20 millions till the end of the year then Ps4 will reach 40+ millions by the same date.

  • +4
super6646 super6646 (on 29 January 2015)

Ummm, no it won't. Ps4 is at 18.6 million, and it'll double that! Don't think so. Plus the 2nd full year is usually a nice increase, so yes it'll probably reach over 20 million. I'm not saying anything for PS4, as I don't need a flame war on my hands!

Sony doen't need to lower the price to sell almost twice of the Xbone, but I bet with anyone here that Sony will ventualy drop the price this year to the same 350$ and that will be the final blow on Xbone.

Yeh ok, go think that to yourself. XD

  • +1
Insidb super6646 (on 30 January 2015)

The YOY % increase for PS1/PS2/PS3 was about 30%, so what does that end up being? 17.7M for PS4 for 2015 from 2014 and 36.3M total. 40M is possible, but it would buck the trend.

darkenergy super6646 (on 30 January 2015)

@mastermind it seems the "PS4 will be at 40 million if xbox does 20 million" isn't likely, just look at this thread:

lol how could this positive comment get dislikes? Some Sony fans must be really concerned with Sony financials....

  • 0
Insidb super6646 (on 30 January 2015)

Well, MS fans down voted me for proving a VGC overtrack of X1. I hardly thing presenting facts is a malicious act, but some people (on both sides) only want to hear positive news about their own system.

Playstation 4 always sold more units globally since launch, and MS only got some recover when they bent over and start selling the Xbone at lower price and even greater loss.

@mastermind xbox one isn't selling are still making money out of it.
