Sony: truckload of Games Coming to PlayStation Vita - News

by William D'Angelo , posted on 16 December 2014 / 7,145 Views

Sony has been working hard to work with developers to release games for the PlayStation Vita. The senior business development manager at Sony Europe Shahid Ahmad has told MCVUK that there is a "truckload" of games coming out for the PlayStation Vita.

"As far as Vita’s concerned, we’ve got a truckload of content coming down the line," said Ahmad. "We have over 50 titles coming from independent developers. There are some titles where we talk to large entities where we can’t actually discuss details and so on, but they get announced as and when. So we’re very busy."

"I’m not sure if you’d call Vita a massive success, but it’s certainly been doing good numbers, it’s been steady, and software is coming practically by the day. The catalogue is really healthy now. Software is no longer a problem on Vita, I would say. There are still people saying ‘I want this on Vita’. You can’t have everything; there are commercial realities. But we are seeing more and more, and I don’t think people are going to run out of Vita games anytime soon."

I love the Vita. But please Sony: Actually release games for the thing, don't just say you are.

Er, Severed is an exclusive announced at PSX. And the next SaGa game was also just confirmed as a Vita exclusive. Plus, many indies and Japanese devs are 'definitive' on Vita.

tbf "this guy" is responsible for almost all the great titles on ps4 and vita.
He signed No Mans Sky. Velocity. Devolver digital games. Binding of Isaac and so many other great games.

Yet he always makes bold promises to Vita fans and don't deliver.

What bold promises? He's always said new games are coming, and noone can doubt vita has been raking new games.
He's never promised new IP's afaik. Unless you can prove it to me

He's completely right tho, there is no lack of games on the Vita, if you pick one up now there is going to be something you like, pretty much all genre's are covered very well both in "AAA games" and some of the smaller store offerings. Just got a name for itself as not having games the same as the PS3 had it for many years after it was completely wrong.

That's what they said at E3, loads of games but most are indies, better than nothing but it still needs more exclusives

Love the Vita An all time favorite system, even if not one more game came out for it. I'll take whatever good games are coming down the pike and be happy, exclusive or not.

Rather than things only available on Vita, they seem content on just having games that aren't on 3DS. shrug

Thing is, it's hard to trust the device if it doesn't get much first party support. Indies are nice, but Sony's lack of investment in its own device leaves people with doubt.

The only games so far that justify owning a Vita for me right now is UC:Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush, Killzone, Tearaway, and AC:Liberation if it was not ported to consoles.
