The success of the DSi was not bad news for DS Lite owners. The success of the New 3DS will translate into a longer lifespan for the original 3DS. It will not hasten the abandonment of software development for the platform.

This "New 3ds" thing is just a scam to the old 3DS owners, I seriously hope to see this fail.

These smartphones are a scam. They release one every year.

A scam because it will play 3DS games and New 3DS games while games for both will keep being released and the more advanced games for the New one wouldn't be playable on the old one and would never have been developed. Ok....

Newer smart phones play games that older ones don't play. New PCs play games that older ones don't play. New gaming consoles play games that older ones don't play. This is standard practice.
