PS4 vs XOne – VGChartz Gap Charts – November 2013 Update

by William D'Angelo, posted on 16 December 2013 / 11,941 Views

Welcome to the VGChartz Gap charts. The charts will be updated monthly and each article will focus on a different gap chart. The charts include comparisons between the 7th generation and 8th generation, as well as comparing the 8th generation consoles.

The PS4 vs Xbox One Gap Chart will be added next month.

PS4 Vs. XOne Global:

Gap change in latest month: 523,927 – PS4

Gap change over last 12 months: n/a

Total Lead: 523,927 – PS4

PS4 Total Sales: 2,099,126

XOne Total Sales: 1,575,199

In November, the PlayStation 4 took an early lead over the Xbox One. The PS4 currently leads by 523,927 units in the first month. The gap is expected to grow slightly in December as both consoles are severely supply constrained. Just about every console shipped will be sold out almost immediately.

The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One both launched this month in North America and Europe. The PlayStation 4 launched on November 15 in North America and November 29 in Europe. The Xbox One launched on November 22 in North America, as well as Europe.

Because excel needs 2 data points to show the actual data in a chart. It is made I just need to wait until December before the line will show up.

This morning I had every intention to have a graph, but excel was like "nope, you need 2 data points to have a graph work."

"The gap is expected to grow slightly in December as both consoles are severely supply constrained. Just about every console shipped will be sold out almost immediately." But is that really true of the Xb one? Yes perhaps in the 360 strongholds of North America, possibly the UK and maybe Australia. But in the other 10 Markets is there actually any evidence that Xb one is selling everything it ships "almost immediately" to the point of being supply constrained? It isn't supply constrained in New Zealand. PS4 is definitely supply constrained here. Most retailers are either totally sold out until 2014, or have shut down online sales and only selling the consoles they have to in store customers. Pre-orders are being accepted for the "early 2014" shipment. These are the NZ retaiiers I searched, so you don't have to take my word for it: The Warehouse, EB Games, Noel Leeming, Harvey Norman. Google, Bing or Alta Vista (lol) them with "New Zealand" and you can verify what I've written.

Even in Canada/USA, it's not hard to find an XBO console. PS4 however.....good luck.
