Mojang has announced that Minecraft - Pocket Edition has reached 10 million units sold on the Android and iOS. This is just one month behind the PC version of the game which hit that mark on April 4.

"First, we are very happy to announce that Minecraft – Pocket Edition has sold more than 10 million copies as of yesterday," said Daniel Kaplan. "We are very thankful to all the support that we have gotten and people playing and talking about our game."

Kaplan also announced that the next update for the game is currently in the works and is planned to be released by the end of May. There will be updates that make changes to the game that won't be default until it has been tested thoroughly.

"So…I know what you are thinking," added Kaplan. "'Yeah, 10m is cool but where is the next update?' We have been working hard on restructuring the backend of a lot of things for Minecraft – Pocket Edition to make future updates smoother."

The PC version of Minecraft has sold 10.34 million units as of the time of this writing. All 3 versions of the game sold 15 million units in 2012 alone, and has sold more than 20 million units at the beginning of this year.
