Looking at the top 10 bestselling Super Nintendo game, the release dates are spread out over a large period during the consoles life time. One game was released in 1990, one in 1991, two were released in 1992, two were released in 1993, one in 1994, two in 1995, and one in 1996.

Also the top six games sold five million or more units and the entire top 10 sold three million or more units.

So jealous, I have all of them barring Yoshis Island. I could never get my hands on a copy of it for sale during the life of the SNES only place in the area had a rental copy of it which I kept out for 2 full weeks to unlock everything but had to return it and never got another chance at getting the game.

Super Metroid misses the list, but so many great games there that it's ok.

Other than Mario World, none of my favorite SNES games made the list. To NoirSon, Mortal Kombat isn't on there because Nintendo took out the blood, so most people bought the Genesis version.

I am surprised Mortal Kombat isn't up there. Given all the hype surrounding that series at the time, I'd figure at least one of the games (especially the uncensored MKII) would be a top seller.
