PS3 Super Slim isn't making anywhere nearly as profound of an affect as the first Slim and the 360 Slim did on sales. I wonder how much 360 will regain on the PS3 this fall. If Wii U doesn't hurt sales I think the PS3/360 will end at 11 and 10.5 million respectively.

Is it just me or is the PS3 geared towards selling 13mil this year while the 360 only 10mil? That would put the PS3 in 500k away territory, which would make a surpass in Q1 of 2013 possible? Crazy. Too many people must already own a 360 in the US. What are official sales forecasts?

I think Sony is just trying to stay close to 360 during the holidays since they usually let them widen the gap then. They pushed back a bunch of major releases to early next year. I expect them to pass Xbox in March or April after God of War, Beyond, Sly, and the Last of Us have released. Of course all of this will depend on if they can these things marketed well like they never do.

What really? In the last 2 years PS3 gained 1 million on the 360, and now you expect PS3 to surpass 360 in the next 6 month, during the time of year the 360 typically outsells the PS3 by quite a bit? PS3 will not be hitting 13 million this year, it's sales are 18% down year on year, and the Super Slim is barely making any noticeable affect. PS3 might hit 11 million, and 360 10 million by the end of the year, but that would still be a 500k gain on the 360 over the PS3 and with Halo 4 and Kinect Price cuts I think the 360 can grow the gap by as much as 1 million.

Holy crap! PS3 had 47 million sold and a 75% market share at this time in 2009? Pretty damn impressive if you ask me. In fact I don't know how they're still behind. That probably gave it 50 million by year's end making it the best selling console in a single year ever, beating SuperNintendo's lifetime sales in 1 year is something that maybe should have gotten more publicity.

Wow, PS3 unit sales and market share are down massively when compared with the same time period in 2009...or it's a giant typo :P
