League of Legends Passes 32M Monthly Active Users - News

Riot Games has announced that League of Legends has 32 million monthly active users and it is currently peaking at three million users playing concurrently. This is three times the current number of World of Warcraft subscribers, and nearly the number of Xbox Live subscribers.
Riot Games claims that "by hours played per month, League of Legends is the most played video game in the world."
Other stats include more than 70 million registered players, 12 million daily active users and more than one billion hours played every month during the third quarter 2012. also more than 90 percent of players are male, 85 percent are between 16 and 30 and 60 percent are enrolled in or have completed some college.
November 2011 was the last time stats were given on the game. Back then, there were 11 million active players, 32.5 million registered users and the game peaked at 1.3 million concurrent players.

My friends ask me to join them on this game for months, but I don't care and don't even know what game it is... Most played on earth ? I always thought it was CoDs (40m monthly active users a few months ago).
With numbers like that, it's amazing that I know absolutely no one that plays it--I think I need to get out more.
