Warp from level 2 to level 8
Normally, to warp to level 8 you have to be in level 7. However, you can warp earlier if after you collect two warp whistles. Use the first one to get to the warp screen, but do not enter a level. Use your other whistle at the warp zone and you will be moved to the bottom row that leads to level 8.
