True, but sneaking is still 10 times as hard. The objective is usually just to go from point A to B and in this case, choosing to run straight through the levels is all I've seen anybody but the most hardcore do. Unless you want to get some silly medal, why waste the time? Yeah, it's a matter of preference and I like being able to tackle things multiple ways. It just seems to me it came at the cost of balance that I loved in previous games in the series. Message | Report |

! @nomorehalo If you really think it was "run-and-gun," you weren't going for the Big Boss medal. The great thing about this game is that it can be played however you want to, and it accommodates many skill levels. If you're a stealth master, the game will be awesome for you in the stealth department but you can play it as a straight-up action game too if you want. Message | Report |

Theres no denying this game will sell 6m. Konami will re-release this title just like past MGS games and it should give it a boost. MGS 1 and 2 shipped over 7m each on PS1 and PS2 respectively. MGS4 has shipped 5.1 on PS3, a huge success when you compare the install bases between PS3 to PS1 and PS2 Message | Report |

I'm pretty sure they will add trophies. There was a poll on the PlayStation blog asking if they should, and most likely they will. Actually, it could be 'you' that is not looking in depth beneath the surface of the story in order to trully grasp those characters and their motivations/development in conjunction to past and present events. But i guess to each his own. Regarding the RE4 view, whatever you wanna call it it is not in any way a 'westernizing' as it is created by 'japanese' devs. Maybe a more 'casual friendly' approach if you are keen on naming it. MGS4 did not function as always over the shoulder...you could go into over the shoulder aiming but it wasn't always over the shoulder like RE4 and the fact you don't see anything wrong with some of the characters makes me doubt you look into the depth of the games rather than the play them Message | Report |

the controls were better, i dont see anything wrong with the multiple locations and i cant find any contracditions with those characters. but i agree the codec felt empty, but it wasnt a major problem to be honest. Message | Report |

I said "westernized" not Americanized -the controls were changed to model western preference (Mass Effect was used as a model) -Much of the codec was removed -Chapters and multiple locations - more action oriented then stealth -Contradictions on Naomi and Vamp and a little of Raiden I think it was a good game still just my least favorite in the series Message | Report |

true most of them are MGS2 fanboys but its also true that MGS4 fanboys hate MGS2 (I don't know why playing as Raiden really killed the game for some people) I consider myself a hardcore MGS fan and I have to say I expected more from MGS4 (the theme wasn't as great as the previous installments) Peace Walker looks promising the presentation of the trailers says so Im iffy about Rising though...Raiden is one of the characters in 4 that had the worst development and contradicted MGS2 Message | Report |

yes it was poorly written but still a decent game, I think Peace Walker will be more promising MGS4 contradicted some of the characters and themes from previous installments and it sold more than MGS3 only (I don't understand how MGS3 and MGS3:Sub only sold 4.5M total, should have sold 7M at least) IMO MGS4 divided the fanbase you have the people who just play the games (series) and enjoy it for what it is and then you have the people who look into the depth of the game (and the whole series) the latter felt 4 was a disappointment in many ways (and it mostly stems from the writing) Message | Report |

This is my favourite in the series as well. Easily the best cinematography and narrative. Sure, some of the more "quiet" scenes are very long and almost overwhelming, but the incredible imagery and profound, poetic writing make them very interesting and quite unique in the medium. Yeah, the last scene is very long (over 20 minutes), but i found it to be both incredibly thought provoking and emotional. Well Konami did say they shipped 4.75M and I expect that by the next time they make a statement on MGS4's sales it'll be over 5M shipped. Making it one of the Highest selling PS3 and MGS games Message | Report |
