Come on guys, you can't just categorize this game as a racer! Its so much more than that! This game is a combination of every conceivable genre in videogame history, and it completely revolutionizes every last one of them. It also has the most engaging, heartfelt and exciting story to ever be told, not just in videogames, but spanning all media, becoming the first videogame to win best Picture at the Oscars and even spawning several unsuccessful TV sit coms. Although I must say, the boss battles were by far the most memorable part of the game. My personal favourites were Chuck Norris and Cher. Message | Report |

What an awesome game! For those that haven't played it, it's like a cross between Return to Monkey Island, Starcraft: Ghost and Duke Nukem Forever. Oh, and I can't believe that people are asking for a sequel! Guys, this took over 20 years to make and it *is* a sequel. Look at the title. This is O II (pronounced "oh two"). The title's stylised. Geez. Gotta' say, in some ways I prefer the original O, with its mid 80s text adventure charm: >Start car The engine roars to life with the sound of 100 pathetic 2600s that couldn't run this. >Accelerate Out of memory. Anyway, O II (I'm going to call it by its true name) is pretty much the greatest game I've ever played. I like the way it generates a world for you to race in before you start. It simulates the big bang, a little evolution and the movement of tectonic plates and continents required for an optimum race track. It really makes everything, right down to the smallest blade of grass seem real, you know? Plus, it's nice to zoom around and note, "Oh, this is a timeline where dinosaurs didn't die out." If you're thinking of getting it, I recommend investing in a wall socket timer. Without one, I found myself jumping into my first race on a Wednesday night and stopping for a pit stop (bite to eat and a break) sometime on the following Monday. It's just that addictive. Now, with the wall socket timer, I've found I quite often make it to work the next day. I can only run it at 1600x1200, but I've heard that if you can run it at its maximum resolution, it's so detailed you can see protons and electrons. It was rumoured that IGN were adding 12 to their rating system specifically in response to this game coming out. Apparently they're skipping 11 because it was better than something better than any games they'd previously rated. Its Japanese title, "You tell me! Ni hao" is unfortunately only regarded as the third silliest Japanese video game title ever. Chinese nationalists were outraged at its announcement, labelling it as yet another attempt by Japan to steal their culture. Finally, yes, the online component of this game is massive and fantastic. Like others though, I wish the updates were more regular. Message | Report |
