Half-Life: Generation is a collection of updated versions of Half-Life, Blue Shift, Opposing Force and Counter-Strike.
After the release of the two expansions and the success of Counter-Strike, the compilation was created with the three games on it. Not only was it cheaper to buy the package rather than the separate games, but they were stored more conveniently.
A previous version was released without Blue Shift, which had a black and orange cover, as seen to the right. Another version was split into two CDs with Half-Life and Counter-Strike on one, and Opposing Force on the other.
