The title says it all. Yay! Click here for your free game. No strings attached as far as I can tell, it's straight from Ubisoft. Check the URL before clicking if you're suspicious - it's OK.

Aaand I forgot to set the forum. I noticed I hadn't set it until I clicked 'Post'. Can a mod please move this to the PC section?

One of the most boring games I've played this gen. Up there with Thief.

Requires Ubisofts uDontPlay. - Not willing to grab this even if Ubisoft was to pay me.
The game is also pretty average.

Can you get it for free (and keep it), or can you only play it for free on these dates?

Yeah, that's pretty bad. That's why I don't really buy almost any of Ubisoft's titles on PC. I think I've grabbed a couple of Ubisoft's Humble Bundles, but that's it. It's a shame, because Ubisoft makes some pretty interesting games.

Well, it says 'giveaway', so I'm assuming you get to keep it. I think they'd let us know if playing was limited to those dates.

I would honestly bother buying Ubi's titles if they:

1) Made superb PC port jobs, I'm talking absolutely stellar cream of the crop quality and not botched jobs, downgrades and 4 layers of DRM attached, all while asking double the price.

2)Made their store on the level of Steam in terms of features and library selection, not just a few AAA games that EA lazily adds to their store as well.

3) No actual need to attach Uplay to their games being sold on Steam. This is a massive gripe of mine, because buying one of their games from Steam, downloading it and then you launch it, only to be told that you'll also need Uplay, effectively adding a second layer of DRM. No other publisher I know of does this when selling their games on Steam.

4) Hold really good sales, and I mean old Steam sale level of sales on the majority of what they have within their store. if they want me to buy, they have to entice me.

I'd love for at least 3-4 of those points to be taken up by Ubisoft, but I haven't seen them trying for any of those points over the past decade. They seem perfectly content with shipping AC Origins with 4 layers of DRM, then excusing it's entire existence, when it's been shown to hamper gameing performance. This is the same company that called 90% of PC gamers pirates, and never apolgised for it. The same company that claimed back in 2014, that DRM was worthless, yet here we are in 2017, with them using 4 layers in total.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

My main problem with Ubisoft is DRM, although bad ports and a useless marketplace (uPlay) don't help either. DRM kills the value of games for me, especially in the case of companies like Ubisoft whose games would almost certainly cease working if the company ever went down or anything. I'm OK with DRM at launch if it's removed later, but Ubisoft hasn't show any good will in this regard as far as I can tell. But yeah, Ubisoft handles PC gaming pretty poorly in general. At least they do support it, and there's some effort put into the ports (I don't think they've hyped basic PC features very much, unlike some other companies), but overall, the situation doesn't seem great. Your mention about sales was pretty good: I think I've never heard about Ubisoft having a sale of any kind. There probably have been some, but apparently not good enough to hear about.

Thanks for sharing!

I already have UPlay and I don't mind getting free games so I'll get it once their servers get back to work.

*Edit* I've managed to get the game but, oddly enough, it says that the game isn't available yet, and that it will only be after the game launches.
