The China-Only PS4 Has a Dragon Paintjob

The PlayStation 4 is finally launching in China. The console will go on sale next January 11. And when the PS4 does, it's getting a special version, just for China.

This is the Special Dragon Edition, which will be available at launch along with the Jet Black and Glacier White 500GB PlayStation 4. The hardware is retailing for 2,899 RMB or US$469.

The commemorative China launch console is a limited edition and has a dragon emblazoned on the hard drive bay.

Sony is also launching the PS Vita in China on the same date for 1,299 RMB or $209. There is also a special dragon pouch that will be available for Chinese gamers.

The Chinese will never buy Japanese products after what they did to China during WW2. Rape of Nanking for example... Japan hasn't even apologized or acknowledge it.

PlayStation 4 confirmed to launch in China on January 11, 2015. The standard version is priced at ¥2899 (about $469 USD) and the PS4+vertical stand+PS camera bundle is priced at ¥3299 (about $533 USD). There's also a ¥3299 limited PS4 dragon edition which is exclusive for Chinese market (see the picture below).

We noticed at suning.com, one of the largest online retailer in China, several more launch titles including LittleBigPlanet 3, Killzone and Need for Speed Rival. There's also a Winning Eleven 2015 PS4 bundle on the page.

Latest source implies that PS4 will be priced at ¥2899 (about $469 USD) and PSV to be priced at¥1299 (about $210 USD).

Original story

PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita is coming to China soon. The new console will be available for preorder on major online retailers starting December 12. Today the preorder page on tmall.com indicates that the launch titles of PS4 China include Snail Games' MOBA King of Wushu, One Tap Hero and indie game Mr. Pumpkin.

CryEngine 3 MOBA King of Wushu is one of the most anticipated one in the line-up. Sony and Snail Games will present a new trailer together on December 12 and today they released a short but flashy gameplay teaser.

PSV has confirmed to be region-locked while PS4's policy remains unclear. Some industry insiders claimed before that PS4 will be region-free in China. If this is true that means Chinese players will be able to purchase original games from oversea which will be definitely bad news for Chinese distributors and retailers. We will need to wait until December 12 to get the answer.

Yes, because WW2 was like yesterday...

Actually all I read until now was that the chinese people were always willing to bet a PS4 over any other console.

Feel free to do some googling and find some pools and articles.

Xbox 1 will do much better because China has a far better relationship with the US compared to Japan. The Chinese dislike anything Japanese. This is a fact.
