I've never done a review before. Now that that's out of the way, let's do this!
So I don't know what I was thinking when Sony called this a "Halo Killer", but I was disappointed. This was, however, still a good game.
I'll start with the setting. Despite being a space shooter, it felt like a modern shooter. The places felt too modern, and the vehicles as well. The people seemed generic. I liked however, the Helgast. They had an interesting backstory, and they had a reasonable choice for invasion.
The weapons were boring however. They seemed too modern, as usual. No plasma weapons made me bored of the weapons. In the later levels, ammunition was scare for my starting weapons. I kept using the dropped weapons. I didn't like the melee mechanic. There were these times when I would do thd melee animation, but I didn't actually hit the opponent. This would lead to me dieing.
What I liked about this, was being able to change characters. It didn't change gameplay much, but I liked changing. I also liked that it had bots in multiplayer. Not many PS2 games had this.
The story, I later learned, was based on World War II. This for me, was a strange. But it made sense, as most shooters during that time were in World War II.
Overall, while I was disappointed by this, I still had fun with it.
I gave this a score of 80.
