Forums - Nintendo Discussion - How didn't Miyamoto ruin Paper Mario: Sticker Star?

I've read across the internet that Shigeru Miyamoto ruined Sticker Star. My question is, how?

AZ will tell you :P

I mean I liked SS personally, but I see it's major problems. Basically the devs wanted to make a full fledged sequel to TTYD with partners, a story, etc. But then Miyamoto axed the whole story as he has swayed towards a Club Nintendo survey saying that the fans didn't care for a story.

As a result of the game's no story, it made the whole game hard to care for since there was nothing to get behind. Also the games has no real partners, another big staple of the series. Lastly while the gameplay went back to turnbase, there was a huge flaw in the combat. There is no leveling system, so battles become completely pointless, as all you need is stickers.

In the end, I hope they go back to their roots for a Wii U version. And for the love of God, leave it alone Miyamoto. Let Intelligent Systems do their thing.

The game is amazing. Don´t listen to ragging teenagers who lurks in the shadows of the internet.

As a result the game had ZERO story, which makes the whole game hard to care for since there was nothing to get behind. Also the games has no real partners, another big staple of the series. This!

I personally think it wasn't as bad as other people say it is, but it really wasn't a Paper Mario.

It was more of an exploring game. I actually liked it a lot, but I still prefer every other Paper Mario.

Well, Miyamoto was the person who came up with the WONDERFUL idea of taking rid of the story, no?

Hey if Miyamoto want to take advice from a kid thats never played TTYD on how to make a Paper Mario game its his own fault.

Not only did he ask them to get rid of the story but also get rid of the XP leveling from battles.

Also only Miyamoto at Nintendo has the right to do forever the same games with the new super mario bros serie.
