inFamous Second Son, the PS4 exclusive by Sony's Sucker Punch, has sold 1.50 million units retail worldwide. A new milestone for this game early in the generation. Notably the game continues to sell fairly well without a lot of discounts or cheap bundles which is probably a major win for Sony. Another interesting fact is that this game is bound to surpass the previous game in the franchise this year within the next few months. 

inFamous 2 sold 1.70 million units and even though it is  decent amount for Sucker Punch, it might have been higher if it wasn't for psplus where the game was offered free. inFamous 2 in the end reached this amount within less than 4 years. 

It took the game 18 months to sell what inFamous Second Son did within just 6 months. It is still unclear how well Second Son will perform during the upcoming months or years but this game is on pace to reach the numbers of the first game easily and much faster. These numbers don't include any digital numbers so you might be able to add up around 15% to the current number of physical copies in order to come closer to the real sales. Nevertheless Sony is  probably happy by these sales and just a few days ago they released a prequel game/DLC that will provide the background story of the beloved character, Fetch. It will probably do fairly well and inFamous First Light will also receive a physical release in select markets. 

Whether we will receive a new game in this franchise is still a big question but with these numbers it is unlikely that Sony will abandon this franchise. Maybe some other characters will get their own prequel games resulting in a Second Son Ultimate bundle down the line. But that is all speculation from my part. 

My prediction: inFamous Second Son will sell 3 million. First Light will reach 500k. 

For comparison, here are the first ten weeks of inFamous 2 (that is more or less the same as 1) compared with Second Son.

Hope you like it. I did a bit of effort because I really enjoy the game and deserves all the sales. With good feedback to Sucker Punch I think that a sequel could reach Naughty Dog quality

Not sure if it'll get a sequel. Sucker Punch has already done inFAMOUS, inFAMOUS 2, Second Son, First Light...
Maybe they want to move on and do something different, and I wouldn't mind at all.

But I would't mind another inFAMOUS game either.

It will very likely sell more than 2.5/3 million units, but 4 seems a bit high. I would be really pleased if it does though.

I think it'll reach new heights for the series when all is said and done. I see the holidays adding quite a bit with a possible bundle come November

I think SP should give it a break for now and make a new IP, preferably sticking to their super power expertise.

There already is an inFAMOUS: Second Son PS4 bundle.

But the Destiny bundle will be the best selling of this holiday season, by far.

I meant maybe Infamous and Killzone SF for $450 come Black Friday or something like that

We'll see. But Destiny being released and the annual Holiday boost will have an effect on both these games (I mean, who buys a new console and don't buy at least one of the biggest exclusive games ?), so it'll probably get close to 2M when 2015 starts !
