EA has been throwing trash-talk punches throughout the development of Battlefield 3, however now they've taken the fight right to the digital doorstep of their enemy, purchasing a domain named after Activision's upcoming shooter.

By navigating to ModernWarfare3.com, users are then re-directed to the official website for Battlefield 3 covered in advertisements to pre-order the game on Origin.

Whilst it's a smart move and sure to garner a number of sales for EA, it also wouldn't take Activision much to have the domain handed over on legal grounds.

HA, EA vs Activision.

Hopefully it will be as entertaining as MS vs Sony pre-Kinect/MOVE

That's pretty awesome. Love this kinda competition EA seems to be bullying them though lol.

I don't see how the fact that the domain was purchused on http://www.godaddy.com who sell domains through domainsbyproxy.com which allows people to regester domains without revealing their identity proves there is no ties to EA... In fact I would say that is pretty strong evidence they are behind it as who else wouldn't want people to know who owns the domain?

EA is stupid. It seems like they are the only ones showing acts of aggression so I hope Battlefield 3 bombs hard.
