Publisher Bandai Namco and developer FromSoftware announced the action RPG, Elden Ring, has shipped 30 million units since its release in February 2022.

This figure is up from 28.6 million units as of December 13, 2024, 25 million units as of June 1, 2024, 20.5 million units as of May 11, 2023, 20 million units as of February 22, 202317.5 million units as of November 14, 2022, 16.6 million units as of June 30, 2022, and 12 million units sold worldwide and one million units sold in Japan as of March 14, 2022.

"The Action RPG Elden Ring has shipped over 30 million copies worldwide," said FromSoftware. "Thank you to everyone who has played the game."

"Dearest Tarnished, we are profoundly thankful for your lasting devotion. May your path be forever guided by the Grace of Gold."

There was no update on sales figures for the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.

Elden Ring released for the Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on February 25, 2022. The Shadow of the Erdtree expansion launched on June 21, 2024.

Elden Ring Tarnished Edition is set to launch for the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025. It includes the base game, the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, new armor, and a new Torrent appearance customization feature.

Seems like it's well worth it. As BotW was THE big epic adventure game to get the second half of last decade, Elden Ring took that position for the first half of this decade. It's probably the one game from the current gen consoles that I absolutely want to play, and will get on Switch 2 eventually in the next few years whenever I end up going to next gen.

Looking at where From were coming from, 30 million units sold of a new IP in 3 years is absolutely stunning!

I've never played any From Software game (please be gentle!), but I just love reading news like this.

From what I've gathered from fans though:

If they'd now only begin to polish their games technically like some other S class studios out there, then their games would even take the ultimate crown/throne of praise.

Otogi 1-2 are on Xbox BC list and still excellent games. Metal Wolf Chaos is on PS4,PC. Armored Core series is fantastic. 4A is the best one but for modern systems ACVI Is still solid.
