Sony Pictures announced the release date for the Uncharted movie has been delayed from July 16 to February 11, 2022. This is far from the first time the film has been delayed.

The last main release in The Uncharted series was 2016's Uncharted 4: A Thief's End for the PlayStation 4. A standalone expansion, The Lost Legacy, was released in August 2017.

Other movies from Sony Pictures delayed include Ghostbusters: Afterlife from June 11, 2021 to November 11, 2021, Cinderella from February 5, 2021 to July 16, 2021, and Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway from April 2, 2021 to June 11, 2021.

That's quite the delay compared to the other films on their slate... honestly I'm just waiting for a trailer to see if it'll even be worth watching, lol.

That's good. They can keep perfecting the technology that will make boy-faced, 5ft7, 140lbs Tom Holland appear to have the stature, and grizzled seasoning befitting of an on-screen representation of Nathan Drake. And there BETTER be a blue beam that shoots skyward out of some relic inside a temple. That's how you know the writers care about the source material.

How many times are they going to delay this movie. At this point they should really consider to cancel it. After so many changing directors already this movie is pretty much guarenteed to be bad.

Well they already completed principal photography so it'd be a waste to cancel it now. Of course many films have returned later for reshoots or have never seen the light of day even after completing filming so it's not impossible.

So, Uncharted delayed 6 times now in total. Ghostbusters delayed 3 times. Peter Rabbit delayed 4 times. And several of those delays were pre-Covid.
