Nintendo and Universal announced the Nintendo-themed land, Super Nintendo World, will open at Universal Studios Japan on February 4, 2021, according to IGN. The Mario Cafe & Store opened before the rest of the land in October.

The themed land will feature Bowser’s Castle (known as Koopa's Castle in Japan). Visitors will be able to climb a staircase and at the top has a life-sized bronze statue of Bowser. The walls of the castle feature portrait paintings of Bowser and emblems from the Mario Kart games.

One of the most anticipated attractions is Mario Kart: Koopa’s Challenge, which puts visitors in the driving seat that includes an AR headset that helps to bring the courses from Mario Kart to life. Each kart has four seats, with a steering wheel and AR headset for each rider.

There is a trophy room where you will be able to pose for photos alongside trophies that are taken from the Mario Kart video games.

The Nintendo-themed land was originally going to open in summer 2020 alongside the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics, but was delayed due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-9) pandemic.

The Super Nintendo World land will also be coming to the US Universal theme parks in the future.
