If XBO keeps this up 2018 might end up being MS peak year this gen.

X model & PUBG releasing late last year along with some nice discounts in the 2nd half of February have given it solid momentum to start the year strong but im not sure it will last.

It could very well stay ahead up until the holidays then be down in Nov/Dec (possible since a new model released last year) erasing the Q1-Q3 lead.

Overall i expect XBO to sell a similar amount in 2018 as it did in 2014-2017, about 8 milion.

With State of Decay 2, Crackdown 3, and if the rumors are anything to go by, a very good E3, the Xbox will most definitely have its peak year in 2018.

Lets not kid ourselves, neither of those games are huge system sellers.

Every E3 is rumored to be very good, it means nothing.

It could have its peak year but its not gauranteed.

It had none of those games last year, yet it will move the same amount of consoles, now that it does?

What does that even mean? Neither of those games are system sellers, they are nice titles that will sell well but acting like they are major sellers like Halo or Gears is silly.

And don't forget about Bowser's Inside Story next year. Nintendo is really trying to squeeze every last penny out of the 3DS as it slowly dies lol

As nice as that would be, Nintendo only seems interested in quick and cheap ports for the 3DS so it's unlikely we'll see any new titles at this point

I'm surprised it's doing as well as it is. To sell 800K in the first 3 months at its age, with its successor out, is impressive.

True, that's pretty incredible for a system that's barely supported anymore
