The VGChartz Gap charts are updated monthly and each article focuses on a different gap chart. The charts include comparisons between the 7th generation and 8th generation platforms, as well as comparisons within the 8th generation. All sales are worldwide, unless otherwise stated.

Xbox One Vs. Xbox 360 Global:

Gap change in latest month: 178,008 – X360

Gap change over last 12 months: 742,887 – X360

Total Lead: 2,286,251- XOne

Xbox One Total Sales: 22,041,382

Xbox 360 Total Sales: 19,755,131

July 2016 is the 33rd month of the Xbox One being on sale. The gap decreased during the month when compared to the Xbox 360’s 33rd month on sale by 178,008 units in favor of the Xbox 360 and 742,887 units in the last 12 months. The Xbox One currently leads by 2.29 million units.

Both consoles launched in November. The Xbox 360 launched in November 2005, while the Xbox One launched in November 2013. The Xbox One has sold 22.04 million units in its first 33 months, while its predecessor the Xbox 360 sold 19.76 million units.

This is good to see. It gives me continued faith that MS isn't going to make Scorpio a next gen console, and abandon the XB1, seeing as it's still doing a solid job in sales. Also really makes me look forward to see just how well PS4 and XB1 do in their lifetimes.

Xbox One S launches the next month which explains the 360 selling more and with the Battlefield 1 bundles announced for Xbox One S the One will gain ground during the holidays.
