They made a good game, marketed it properly and now are reaping the benefits. And no scumbag tactics were involved. Some of these publishers could learn a thing or two here.
Good for them, it is deserved! Steamspy reports 750,000 users on on steam plus 1 million purchased on GOG, maybe about 50,000 purchased through other online vendors? Can we estimate about 1.8 Million for PC sales?
What's with the buyers of the retail-version on PC? Yes, PC still sells retail-games. :-)

Totally deserved, if not even less then deserved. Really hope Witcher 3 keeps on selling.
Well deserved. The game had tons of stuff to do. I spent about 175 hours playing it, myself.
Congratulations, well deserved.
$83M budget. That's a big jump from the Witcher 2's $10M.
Nice. So about $350 million total game revenue. Not sure what proportion of that goes to CDPR but it's pretty obvious they made a reasonable profit. Proof you can play nice with consumers AND be profitable. Also shows that for 3rd parties being multiplatform is important. They wouldn't be at 6 million if they weren't on 3 platforms.
Great news. Love this game.
Part of that 6mil on GoG was from the free copies all Gamestop employees received. They only got digital PC copies for free. Those are still some good numbers though.
I bet they regret ending the franchise a little.
Technically they only ended Geralt's storyline, that doesn't mean the entire Franchise is dead altough it will be in the ice box for quite a time.
