Welcome to the VGChartz Gap charts. These charts are updated monthly and each article focuses on a different gap chart. The charts include comparisons between the 7th generation and 8th generation platforms, as well as comparisons within the 8th generation. All sales are worldwide, unless otherwise stated.

XOne Vs. Wii U Global:

Gap change in latest month: 251,595 – Xbox One

Gap change over last 12 months: 4,968,107 – Xbox One

Total Lead: 3,270,826 – Xbox One

Xbox One Total Sales: 13,250,099

Wii U Total Sales: 9,979,273

In June 2015 the Xbox One grew its lead over the Wii U by 251,595 units and it has now outsold the Wii U by 4.97 million units in the last 12 months. The Xbox One currently leads by a total of 3.27 million units.

I wonder how this would look if Nintendo hadn't been so stubborn and lowered the Wii U to $250 last holiday and bundled Smash and if Microsoft hadn't gone crazy (borderline kamikaze) with bundles, sales, and game giveaways. Guess we'll never know but Nintendo certainly missed a major opportunity last holiday.

Still pretty pathetic sales for xbone. Baffles me why third parties make games for it and not wii u when clearly the wii u cold surpass xbone sales quite easily with third parties on board.
