Another expansion pack for Civilization 3 which offers more units, civilizations, and other extras.

I have enjoyed Civilization 3 since the moment it came out.  This expansion packs adds more extras (volcanoes, wonders, governments, unit abilities, resources, etc..).  They have added 12 custom conquest scenarios (9 based on past history conflicts ranging from Mesopotamia to WW2 Pacific, and 3 non historical scenarios)  It would have been nice if they improved on the computer A.I. which tends to play terrible compared to an average human.  However, I guess this would have required more of an overhaul of the entire game.

The added extras are a nice fit to make Civilization 3 a more complete package.  I have played all the conquest scenarios which came with this expansion pack and I really love all of them.  They all have their own custom units and civilization.   However, the main reason why I would upgrade to Conquest or Complete would be because of the user custom made scenarios offered on various sites.  http://www.civfanatics.com/civ3/downloads/ is probably the best place to go for completed scenarios, graphics modpacks, completed modpacks, user-created maps, and unit graphics.  There are so many user made completed scenarios that it would take a very long time to play all of the greatest ones offered.  I am still playing these scenarios from civfanatics to this day.  Of course some aren't as good as the Conquest ones, but some are even better.  I will give a warning on having at least 1-1.5 gb ram and a good processor around 2.5-3.5 ghz if you plan on playing some custom made scenarios that are on a huge map (like WW2 global) because the the turns can take awhile to process (on slower cpus) since there are so many countries/units.

There has been no overhaul in graphics or anything of that matter.  However, they have included extras in everything from the editor to multiplayer.  This expansion pack is pretty much obselete now since they released a Civilization 3: Complete which includes the Play the World and Conquest expansion packs all in one package.  However, for those that only bought Civilization 3 and Play the World expansion pack this is a must upgrade.  The fact that you need it to play most of the user made scenarios that are offered online gives this expansion pack tremendous value!

This expansion made Civ 3 even better. User made scenarios are usually better than the conquest scenarios included in this expansion. However, the conquest scenarios that they provided were all done pretty well.
