If it regressed back to 16 bit, it would have been modeled after MM7. And 7 is inferior to the games 9 is modeled after.

You know, MM2 and MM3 are still tied as my all time series favorites... followed by X

I like the regression, but honestly I probably would be happier if they regressed back to 16bit (SNES) rather than 8bit (NES)... although it probably wouldn't have sold as well that way not being as nostalgic.
