Wow sales going up this week!

My parents asked me about this game this week, meaning the publicity they're using (newspaper interviews of Spielburg (sp), etc., are starting to sink in. I agree, EA should have done more to market this. It is a blast!

For Europeans: play.com has it for 35 euros now. Not a bad price, IMHO.

This game really needs to be 29.99.

I am sure they are already making a profit, and this type of game typically does not preform well at a full price tag(looks over a Game Party and Carnival Games)

even a 39.99 pricepoint could do wonders.

LEGS LEGS LEGS! Please, this game deserves the sales. Hopefully if it gets a price cut, it can perform like Game Party and more people can get their hands on this tasty treat.

it's great, but I want to see what other people are creating

I still think this game will become a million seller!

A quarter of a million in 7 weeks is great for a new IP!

EA dropped the ball when it came to advertiseing Boom Blox. They should have used Speilbergs name much more, It also should have been marketed towards adults, instead of children. Like Wiifit.

@Onna: why the US version? The EU version is cheaper and you can get it in a store near you, without shipping costs...
Message | Report
*~Onna76~* posted 25/06/2008, 09:32
Have decided to order the US version for full price anyway, as everyone seems to be so enthusiastic about this game and to support "good" 3rd party games the fullest.

You can't download new levels. You can only get new ones from a friend in your address book. It would be nice to have an online level repository, kinda like Blast works. Now, here's an idea for Boom Blox 2...

Anyone know where I could go to download new MP levels for this? It would make the game SO much cooler if I could d/l some more good competitive levels...

Adjusted! Still not bad, 200k in just over a month. This game will probably reach 500k this year.

It deserves more. However, it's hard to appreciate this game, unless you try it.

I think NPD may have undertracked this a little, and these results could be very correct. I hope they are.
Message | Report
Chrizum posted 14/06/2008, 08:03
It isn't that much overtracked.
VGChartz has it at about 90k for may in the America's. thats about 82k for the US. That's a difference of 22k, so the game probably sold around 180k worldwide by now instead of 210k.

This game deserves to go over a million. I just think that EA should be kicked in the head for targeting it to 8-12 year olds. I really don't think that that group is the ones who's going to have the most fun with it.

Remember he also did Freakazoid and Animaniacs.

Anyway this game has as much of a perception problem as Zack and Wiki did. It's full price and at first glance a simple puzzle game.

I think this game will have an easier time overcoming that though then Zack and Wiki. I see this eventually selling a million by the end of next year.

I mean i've heard people drone about how awesome this game is for the past couple weeks. That with all the custom videos of the build tool have me convinced this game will have great legs.

But seriously, this is one of he ugliest games I have played. It's just... ugly.

... WHY does it wear the Speilberg name?

Anyone want to guess first week sales? I'll predict 30k to 40k. Probably would be more like 20k without the strong reviews and Steven Spielberg name.

Fantastic game. My only problem with it is that it may be TOO addictive. Ah well, work and girlfriend can come in a close second, they will just have to understand...

Oh, and Mark Mothersbaugh's score for this bad boy is awesome, the man needs to get more DEVO going again, he just exudes brilliance.

Simply an amazing game. This is a completely unique experience with a huge single player experience (400 very unique levels) and the best multiplayer party game to hit the Wii since Wii Sports. A must own.

technically, next week it will be at 1 million, it's at 993k right now. As for why it says 1.01, it says that because it adds up the 2 rounded up numbers.
