I've actually played it longer than I did the last Assassin's Creed game, The Witcher 3 and The Last of Us put together. I don't believe anything that was promised wasn't delivered, but the over exaggerations on it were from a different type of gamers perspective. For example, one that likes grinding and "repetive" gameplay. So I think it just varies from person to person and that most people were overhyping it because they thought it would be some type of mission game and etc. Message \| Report
