Oh, and by the way, it hardly flopped.Since it did use many assets from the first one, the development cost of this game was probably wayyy lower than the first, making it profitable with less sales.

@Paatar by recycling I think he meant that the game uses too much assets from the previous game, which is correct.I felt like 50% of the game was parts that they copied and pasted from the first one, from enemies to locations. And even though the game have many improvements over the first Bravely, it lacks the ambition of the first one due to these reuses, in my opinion.

@Reveur, no, this one doesn't recycle. It lets you do the side quests again at some point so you can get all the classes but that's it. It is a much better game than the first.

The flop is understandable. People were so put off by the recycling in Default that they didn't bother with this one. I certainly didn't. I've also read this games recycles as well, so that's not going to attract people.

I think the American fanbase may have been more forgiving then Japan but it probably won't fully match the original but it is very much a better game. I still think being released THAT close to Fire Emblem Fates and just before other major RPG releases such as Star Ocean, TMS and Monster Hunter Generations was a stupid move by Nintendo/Square Enix whoever idea it was.

I´m sure that with digital it will reach the million mark :) Bravely Default has great legs so I´m going with 850K LTD physical :)

I'm glad it's selling in the Americas as much as it did in Japan, if there's a Bravely Third, I hope it's enough for them to bring it. But all in all, it is selling much less than it's predecessor, which is not a good sign unfortunately.

Oops. Sorry. Anyway, looks like the U.S. numbers are up now, and it's not a flop at all. In fact, it's got about 138k total as of today in America.

Actually, no it's not "bombing" at all. According to the charts, the USA numbers are now at 384,258. So it actually sold BETTER on Week 2 in America instead of worse. Try again.

About 14k less than the original; still OK numbers. Not great, but OK overall. Not "bomb" territory at all.

And then Dragon Quest VII will release, sell double this FW and they'll still hesitate to localize XI on 3DS and PS4. But this, they'll localize it in a seconds notice. The sales aren't bad but they don't really justify instant localization.

Bravely Default didn´t have a strong debut in Europe either and it managed to sell over 290k so this sales aren´t that bad :)

BS just showed up on the pre-orders chart. It might have an acceptable chat run after all. ^_^

Maybe this game will get a For The Sequel edition. I imagine some people are holding out for that given what happened with Default.

I can't wait for this game to get localised! Too bad it's underperforming compared to Bravely Default.
