Can't believe it has been since 2013 (NA) since this dropped. It is about time a true AC is put on the Switch. They are probably just trying to get a mobile f2p iOS and Andriod version out first to draw attraction or launch around same time. This should break 10 million by 2018, giving the 3DS eight such games. Heck, it's already the biggest 3DS game worldwide that isn't Mario or Pokemon. I can't imagine the Switch iteration being anything less than a system seller. Message | Report |

7.3 million copies, although that is with digital sales. If we include the ~1 Million number from Japanese digital downloads this game has already outsold Wild World there. However, even without digital sales VGC is still undertracking this game in Japan. Should show that it has already crossed the 4 Million mark by now. Message | Report |

Game will suck your soul, chew it up, and spit it out. 120+ hours played and still climbing. Soon it will overtake Swapnote for number 1 on playtime. Swapnote playtime mainly so high because of load times and leaving it on by accident. Luckily, they sped up the load times on Swapnote. No wonder they have been taking their time on Miiverse for 3DS. They probably need to get the load times down on 3DS for Miiverse... and there goes my rant... Message | Report |

NPD had Animal Crossing, in the month of June, a 5-week sales month, at 505,000. (as per http://www.examiner.com/article/june-2013-npd-nintendo-3ds-and-animal-crossing-new-leaf-top-sales-chart). If you take the first five weeks of sales from this new adjusted figure, it totals 483,000, which isn't much of a difference, but still less than the official NPD numbers. Message | Report |

I would say it is probably around 4.6-4.7 knowing how well digital sales did in japan, its only safe to presume they would have performed well digitally in europe and the us, especially since the game is suited to download. Message | Report |

@piggychan, AC does a lot better on hand held. It would help move some consoles but AC is a bigger system seller on hand helds. Wait till you see the next few weeks of 3DS hardware sales. They are going to get a pretty damn nice bump. Then you got MH4 (Japan) and Pokemon on the way. 3DS will definitely be up YoY in hardware sales. Message | Report |

I stand corrected. AC:NL sales in Japan and South Korea sould be near 5m when it launches worldwide. The 3.86m is supposedly from March 31st numbers from Nintendo. So it is now early June which I believe the numbers to be around 4.5m at least. Message | Report |

Funny thing mentioning NSMB2... That game was the only retail game that I downloaded from eshop (was a promotion for more coins at the time). I wish I had the physical copy of that game instead but not that big of a deal. However, Animal Crossing I will gladly buy from the eshop since I see an advantage of having it always on the system.
