Kirby's Return to Dreamland (Wii) > Opinions (49)

Goodnightmoon posted 09/06/2016, 03:22
I have been playing this game for a few days and I freaking love it!! Is extremelly fun and charming, traditional Kirby with awesome graphics, perfect gameplay, a TON of charm and new elements that worked pretty well, this is a dream for Kirby fans and, while it had overall positive reviews I think it was underrated just because Epic Tarn was more original, wich is true, but this is on the same level in terms of fun. Anyway, pretty good sales overall, Japan loved it and as a curiosity despite selling barely 0.21m in Europe this is like the 2nd best selling game of the franchise on the continent that usually ignores the poor pink ball but for some reason gave to this one a little more attention.

I wish they re-printed this as a Nintendo select, currently it's really expensive and difficult to find

1.60 isn't bad but it deserves at least 3m+

What made Europe come out to play for this game? I don't think any Kirby has managed over a hundred thousand there since the original Gameboy.

22nd best selling Wii game of all time in Japan, beating out both Zeldas, Epic Yarn, and Dragon Quest Swords.

I consider this game proof that sometimes, Japan can still single-handedly justify a game's existence.

Kirby's Return to Dreamland is a return to the normal Kirby gameplay from the 1990s. This game includes a combination of gameplay elements from Kirby's Adventure (NES), Kirby SuperStar (SNES) and Kirby 64 (N64). Fans will surely live through this nostalgic train and will enjoy the amazing graphics and music which was implemented in the game. The graphics scheme is similar to 2010's DKC Returns and the music is heavily influenced by the older kirby games as it includes alot of the old tracks remixed. Storyline wise its nothing special, but its a Nintendo game, you shouldnt be worried about the story but the gameplay is where this game truly shines. If your a old kirby fan, you will surely love this and will forget about the mess that Epic Yarn was. 8.5/10

I have to buy it, I'm dying to, but I've found some retro games (kind of expensive ones) and I¡m buying those at the moment. Next month I'm getting it for sure!Kirby games are hard to find months after they're released...

In short, this looks like it'll be more popular in Japan than Epic Yarn, but less popular in America. Europe doesn't care much for Kirby, so expect another 1-1.5 million seller total.

It's already topped Epic Yarn's first week thanks to better Japan sales. 1.6m lifetime?

@NintendoFanDj It's a bit worse than Epic Yarn did, for a game that has reviews a bit more critical than Epic Yarn did. These sales seem fair. Epic Yarn sold less than 10% of its sales in the first week in America, and if this follows the same pattern, it could end up selling 0.75 million in the Americas alone.

About 85% of Epic Yarn's sales week one in America. So 1.2 million first year?

Destructoid gave it a 10/10! IGn gave it a 7.5 I think. They should just have fans of games review games. That way if they like it then we know it is playable for the rest of us.
