The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (GB) > Opinions (16)

Ingenious game, just shy of the brilliance that is Ocarina of Time. Link's Awakening is the best handheld game ever made by far, none come close. It even eclipses it's 'big' brother A Link to the Past in scope and depth, on an underpowered system no less! A system never made for a game of this magnitude. If that's not an achievement, I don't know what is.
Very good sales also, especially when combined with the DX version. Very happy about that.

My all time favorite Zelda game (yes, I've played all of them) even more so then Ocarina of Time. Even without its namesake Zelda this game stands out as truly unique, with easy the most heart wrenching ending an game has ever had. Your not a Zelda fan if you haven't played this one.

After all these years, I still consider this the best game I've ever played. Come, Thief, let us awaken!

I just wanted to point out that this game is actually better than the DX version for one simple reason: cheating = replayability. if you go to the map just as you're transitioning between areas, you'll end up essentially sliding that level you're moving to under you, and be at the far edge, skipping past any obstacles in the way. This is useful for skipping obstacles you don't want to deal with, but the fun comes from getting to glitched areas that are most commonly accessed by using this inside caves where the far edge is actually a wall

anyone who has played this game multiple times, and hasn't tried this cheat out, needs to. It adds a whole level of hilarity to see what underground areas connect to where.

One of the greatest video games ever created. Chadius, I share your sentiment. Such a feel of joy upon finishing this game. I wish casuals could experience this.

Best game EVER!!
Although it was by far not my first game it was the one which REALLY impressed me! Without Links Awakening maybe I wouldn't be into videogames!

At Cladius... The ending was just great...!

This is my all time favourite Zelda game... This game nailed the Zelda formula perfectly and added onto everything that made a Link to the Past such a great adventure. I still can't believe they were able to pull off a game of this greatness on the gameboy. This game forced me to buy a Gameboy, it's a purchase I never regretted.

I'd give this game a perfect 10, it's absolutely perfect!
