METRO 2033 (X360) > Opinions (56)

Mr Puggsly posted 27/02/2012, 09:04
I enjoyed this game, but it doesn't feel like much effort went into the 360 port. I'll probably give the PC version a go via OnLive.

Just tried to play the game before turning it off in disgust. Sound, controls, hit detection are all broken, add in a couple stupid gameplay mechanics and the game is not worth the disc its printed on.

The majority sales are from PC and this game sold very well on steam (around 15 million USD on steam alone) and the budget is very low for this game; So this game can get profit

Nice to hear it's been profitable. I might actually check this out when it hits $20.

Mr Puggsly posted 07/05/2010, 08:39
At a minimum this will sell 500K. But I think people will be all over it when it hits $20.

As expected Metro must have been very popular on the PC in Eastern Europe.
Just like STALKER where half the sales (1m) came from Russia.

@ Strategyking
The game was very cheap to develop:
"The CEO attributed profits to the game's low-cost development model, "so when we get to even pretty modest levels of sales, we're still making good money.""

Strategyking92 posted 06/05/2010, 05:03
glad to say 2k said this game was very profitable. I bet that means the pc version sold around 300-400k. And besides, I don't think the game was all that expensive to make.

@ XxXProphecyXxX
Yeah, shame they spent a ton on advertising. I couldn't turn on the TV or open a magazine without seeing ads for this game...

Seriously though, I don't know what their expectations are and THQ hasn't done a great job supporting it.

I don't know what to say. They should have at least released a demo.

@Jski actualy if you pull up you compass there is an arrow pointing exactly where you need to go at lest on the PC version there is lol
Message | Report
Jski posted 11/04/2010, 09:35
The story and the environment is great though it is a bit confusing what you have to do but i think i am too use to an arrow poiting the way to go lol. And its funnly some times the human ai what it dose but the mob ai is kind of good at lest more then just simply rushing you.

it's sad when good games dont get good sales. The game deserves more.Atleast it's better than overratde Bioshock 2 which was no more than a mod/expansion pack of Bioshock 1.ME2 also deserves more..but its struggling somewhere around 1.6 mill mark :(

Metro 2034 is already out.
And I agree the PC version should be more popular due to Russian support.

Ouch, bad sales. To be fair, they couldn't have picked a worse name for the game. I was half expecting a game about hair product and interior design based on the title.
