Yeah. but GOW did amazing numbers for the kind of game it is. And well, Rockstar has become a kind of brand for those kinds of gamers that KNOW they will get their money's worth of entertainment from their games. I think rockstar games appeal top those gamers that will FOR SURE buy a rockstar game, but even though they may also love GOW or something else for example, they will not buy it because they are selective on games they buy. Rockstar has established themselves with many casual gamers that don't buy a lot of games but buy will most likely 100% buy any rockstar game. That's what I believe and I think it's evident in the sales.
Heck, no other open world games besides like Skyrim or Fallout sell on the level of GTA or RDR.

To be fair, the average gamer age is going up, but the time that gamer has to devote to a game is getting smaller what with children and careers. So the term casual may be correct in the sense that these people don't play a lot now, but they very well could have been avid gamers before. But yeah, if those type of gamers lived off GTA III and on, it'd make sense for them to get these experience packed open world blockbusters.

Ok, not to downplay these sales or anything or the game itself but...I just have this feeling like the people buying rockstar games are the very VERY casual type that buy like, well, only rockstar games or like 2-3 titles in a year. And if they buy one game, it has to be a rockstar one lol. It's like these are the gamers that don't finish these games but enjoy just randomly goofing around in the endless world at offer. And, well...I could totally understand that. Rockstar knows what they're doing, for sure.

Almost 3:1 ratio with the XB1 version. Very impressive. Sony was smart to bank on this one because it’s definitely gonna push a lot of hardware sales in the coming years.
