Wow, this is just horrid. No one bought this game. I wonder how rare this will be in the future.
Ultrashroomz (on 17 July 2015)
Damn, I didn't realize how badly this bombed.
Goodnightmoon (on 11 July 2015)
Biggest BOMBA Nintendo has released in years, look those Europe and Japan sales, is catastrophic.
NintendoPie (on 27 June 2015)
I have a feeling this game got close to no advertising at all. Quite a huge blunder Nintendo made with this one.
TreeTurtle (on 06 June 2015)
Does anyone even remember this game after two months?
VaultDweller (on 22 May 2015)
If this game were a sci-fi steampunk FPS for Wii U...

This game is such a disappointment. Such stupid character choices. No one wants to play as Tom Sawyer or Wizard of Oz characters. Not to mention the enemy design looks so aweful. Games like Valkyria Chronicles have proven that this subgenre can be amazing, but IS really goofed up with this dud.
Gammalad (on 21 April 2015)
Nintendo gave this game The Wonderful 101 treatment.
NoirSon (on 16 April 2015)
It is the comic book like graphics, plus the style of game that don't quite mix for the most attractive product. It is niche type game that sadly was wasn't helped by certain design choices in its looks or gameplay.
Skullwaker (on 16 April 2015)
Wow, this did really bad. Thankfully, Splatoon should show Nintendo that new things can be successful.

Too bad the game flopped like this. Hopefully this won't scare Nintendo away from experimenting with new franchises, but I feel that Splatoon will fair much better.
Salnax (on 13 April 2015)
I suspect Wil Wheaton, the voice of Abraham Lincoln in this game, might have hurt sales a bit. He's been making some people angry lately by calling critics misogynist, fabricating information about people who disagree with him, and comparing anyone whose not feminist to Hitler.

It just so happened that Wheaton, either by his own choice or Nintendo's gambling on his star power, was prominently featured in a lot of the game's press coverage. So even the "good press" the game got likely left some people feeling disinclined from getting the game.

It left me deciding to get Majora's Mask 3D instead.

the only reason i can think of for the poor sales is the graphics style because the gameplay is great

Not surprised at all it didn't do well...
I don't think this deserves to bomb so hard but the overall feeling of the game already had people on the fence and the divisive reviews ranging from "It's bad" to "It's amazing" really didn't help the many that were on the fence.
TreeTurtle (on 02 April 2015)
Predictions, anyone?
Paatar (on 09 January 2015)
I am actually pretty excited about this game. It seems different, but I like it.
