Second Best Selling in the Tiger Woods Franchise
Zucas (on 26 March 2009)
Finally updated and million seller. Thx brett.
arsenal009 (on 11 January 2009)
Well We Love Golf by Capcom only sold 70k in NA & Japan. I'd imagine less than 200k in Others data.
So golf games will sell, unless u don't care about marketing it, stupid Capcom and their crappy Wii support. Worst thing is that it was made by Camelot so it was probably a decent game too.
Zucas (on 01 January 2009)
According to ELSPA it's sold 200,000 in the UK alone. So yea come on ioi this is an easy one to update. It's well over a million.
bigjon (on 30 December 2008)
this is a million seller without a doupt, golf games will always do well on the wii.
Zucas (on 27 December 2008)
Yea sales brought down a little but still with others already platinum.
kopstudent89 (on 26 December 2008)
mmm was overtracked i see... and it seemed so, the 08 version was just too close to the newer ones...
Still dont take away anything, thats awesome sales!
Zucas (on 21 December 2008)
Well not going to need others to make it to platinum status but sure would make things a lot easier haha.
Zucas (on 03 December 2008)
My god this only sold 3,000 less than its 09 counterpart on Black Friday in America. That's just fucking amazing.
Erik Aston (on 28 November 2008)
The other weird thing is that the XBox 360 version of Tiger Woods 2008 has some "others" data.
perculator (on 24 November 2008)
Why does the 07 version have other sales but not this one
arsenal009 (on 17 November 2008)
Guaranteed mln seller w others data
SaviorX (on 31 October 2008)
This is one of the rogue 3rd-party million sellers Nintendo was probably talking about.
Add the Others sales.
kopstudent89 (on 25 September 2008)
btw this game sold this year more than it did the year it launched...
including holidays! i find that very weird!
Zucas (on 18 September 2008)
Savior- that would be assuming that Tiger Woods did terrible in everywhere outside of the UK. According to ESLPA sales awards, Tiger Woods 08 on the Wii achieved gold status, or 200,000 units sold. Meaning it's somewhere in between 200k-300k now, but probably closer to the 200k number.
Meaning in every other region for this title to be platinum it'd only have to sell 150,000 units which doesn't seem that hard to do considering this sold a lot better in the UK than 07 did. I think it's safe to say this title went platinum, or did at least 350,000 in E/O. Just waiting for ioi to make it official on the site.
SaviorX (on 06 September 2008)
The EU/Others numbers should be at around 0.22m at least.
Assuming it only sold 2/3 as good as TWPGA 07, which I doubt. I really think it's at 270k though.
kopstudent89 (on 06 September 2008)
its weird it sold that much given it didnt look like having any sort of legs at all:S
ganondorf7799 (on 03 September 2008)
stof (on 04 August 2008)
I knew something here didn't seem right. I guess it still doesn't
ClaudeLv250 (on 24 July 2008)
If this is anything like 07 then Others numbers could very well push it to a million.
dh858 (on 24 July 2008)
it was up in the euro charts for a while and i think its also getting way undertracked in the us
Zucas (on 19 July 2008)
Wow haha this is a lot higher than last time we saw it haha. Now I really want others sales haha.
MontanaHatchet (on 01 July 2008)
I'm confused why it would have sold better in PAL than America when the '07 version didn't.
Zucas (on 27 March 2008)
Yea we need Others sales for this. I bet this game is around 700k when we add others sales.
Tiger Woods 09 on Wii should almost become platinum.
Friis (on 19 March 2008)
I don't know if it is being undertracked in USA but in UK it has sold over 100.000 copies alone (http://www.elspa.com/?i=3942) so my guess would be that it is close to half a million worldwide by now when ading numbers from EU.
carlnunz (on 16 March 2008)
I feel like this game is being undertracked. How could the first have sold so well, and this one so poorly? not to mention its always mentioned on best seller lists
