Loved FM4, not sure this one would be up my alley though. Looking forward to FM6 when it arrives.
piggychan (on 23 September 2014)
I just got this game with my xbone. Initially I hated this game, the game feels different from previous one and a lot harder to control, but learning the nuances and how the game plays I think the racing is quite tense. As a launch title I think it's good hoping the next one will be a graphical step up as there are a few things that annoy me with this one.
Mr Puggsly (on 16 September 2014)
Its a lot for me, I usually don't play games for a long period of time. I tend to play games to end and move to the next. That usually only takes 7 - 10 hours. I'm up to 20 hours on Forza 5 and counting.
The only games I've spend over 100 hours with are Halo 3, Oblivion, and Skyrim.
Chris Hu (on 15 September 2014)
@Mr Puggsly that is not a lot I already played it over 150 hours but since it looks like there will be no more DLC for this game I'm pretty much done with it. Just need a couple of more cars to have all the cars in the game and I will probably get a couple more manufacturers to max affinity.
Mr Puggsly (on 09 September 2014)
Surprisingly one of my most played games on X1. My stats say just over 17 hours of driving time.
Maybe I'll finish all the league races before Forza 6.
Chris Hu (on 22 June 2014)
The two free Q50's in August are going to be pretty sweet. Especially the Eau Rouge version.
Chris Hu (on 10 June 2014)
Turn 10 did a really good job with the Ring that being said it would be nice if they would release at least one more track.
Chris Hu (on 27 May 2014)
Well the game will get at least two more car packs the next one come out this Friday already. I also think there is a strong chance for another DLC track coming out soon. It will probably be either Monza, Pacific Raceways or the Ring. Monza would be a nice fit to be released in September because that is when the F1 race takes place there and it would be a nice fit for the monthly endurance race because none of the other tracks in the game get used for a race in real live in that month.
Chris Hu (on 14 May 2014)
@Mr Puggsly the new tracks are a lot of fun almost got all the achievements that where added after Long Beach also just need the Long Beach hopper one and the drift one (which I might not get). Still hoping they add at least a couple more also hoping that this month DLC car pack wasn't the last one.
Mr Puggsly (on 08 May 2014)
@ Skeeuk - As long as Forza games keep selling 2 - 3 million, that's enough to keep it going.
Glad to see its selling well. I started playing again to check the new tracks, good stuff.
Chris Hu (on 17 April 2014)
Long Beach is a blast rumor has it that Monza and Pacific Raceways will be added as tracks. Not really hyped about Monza unless it has more then one track layout would prefer Mugello Circuit to make a return. Pacific Raceways should be very good, hopefully it will also include the drag strips that are inside the race track because the current drag strip that is in the game is pretty dull.
Chris Hu (on 10 April 2014)
Doubt it will sell 4 million unless it gets bundled a lot but that being said its sales are fine it already outsold the first Forza game and for a launch title anything over 1 million is great.
DiscussionTime (on 10 April 2014)
Actually Skeeuk with Forza 1 selling the lowest, 3 selling the highest, and 2 and 4 selling just above 4 million, Forza 5 is outpacing Forza 2 and is on track to sell 4 million lifetime.
Skeeuk (on 07 April 2014)
wow didn't realise the franchise was declining
Chris Hu (on 28 March 2014)
The game will get some more free DLC soon hopefully another free track wouldn't mind if it another free car pack like the Honda one either but would prefer another track.
Chris Hu (on 23 March 2014)
The online for this game is actually pretty good. Infected mode is still a lot more fun in Horizon though. Probably will get 325 metals eventually and get all the online achievements.
Chris Hu (on 24 February 2014)
This should sell pretty good in regions its not been released yet especially if they add another free track like Road America which was released last week.
T.Rexington (on 19 February 2014)
MS usually ends up bundling Forza, so yeah, I can see that happening.
Chris Hu (on 16 February 2014)
@Mr Puggsly Well Forza Horizon is almost guaranteed to come out this fall but Forza 5 still should have decent legs until its officially announced. Also I still think that Forza 5 will probably end up in the first X1 holiday bundle so 2 million could still happen.
Mr Puggsly (on 13 February 2014)
And there it is, a million seller. Maybe 2 million down the road.
If a new Forza comes out this year, that might slow down sales though.
Chris Hu (on 11 February 2014)
For having less then half the contend of Forza 4 the game is actually a lot better then thought it would be. Hope they add some more 70's F1 cars because so far the 1976 Ferrari SF 312 T2 is my favorite car but the 70's event is the only open wheel event I have tried in the career mode.
Chris Hu (on 22 January 2014)
Still has slightly better legs then Battlefield 4 will probably still pass it eventually just going to take a bit longer. Also if this game would have had a bit more contend it would be a very close second to COD.
sales2099 (on 14 January 2014)
Nice to see the comments section picking up a positive attitude :). Guaranteed million seller and nice legs for a launch game.
Chris Hu (on 13 January 2014)
@Skeeuk I heard that the drivatars can be a a real pain in the butt. Not going to affect me though since I will play it on the easiest difficult level with everything turned on expect for auto braking.
Skeeuk (on 12 January 2014)
is it true that the real life drivatars mimic that of real users? ie is someone is a rammer you will race agauinst a rammer? just seen on GT review?
T.Rexington (on 12 January 2014)
I honestly didn't expect this to be the best selling X1 exclusive, but what do you know? Most people seem to be enjoying it and I hear the driveatar stuff is cool as you progress in the game. Good on Turn 10, but I hope they knock it out of the park and beyond for FM6.
Chris Hu (on 11 January 2014)
Continues to have good legs Battlefield 4 continues to lag behind will be the second best selling X1 game in no time. Plus it should continue to have decent legs as long as Turn 10 supports it with good DLC the second car pack is a lot better then the first they need to continue that next month and add some DLC tracks some free DLC would be nice also since all Forza's since the second one had some.
roborad (on 11 January 2014)
glad to see this game has good legs.
NobleTeam360 (on 11 January 2014)
Solid sales for a launch title!
JDemon (on 09 January 2014)
@DialgaMarine you do realize that gt6 has a nearly a 20 times larger install base then forza 5?
im guessing the good figures for a launch game bring out the insecurity in people.
pezus (on 08 January 2014)
@sales: Yeah, I DO stay off the GT comment section, since my browser has issues when I try to post there (lol).
Chris Hu (on 07 January 2014)
It will outsell the first Forza in a couple of weeks if you include digital sales its probably already did it. Also since it has better legs then Battlefield 4 it will surpass it in sales and will be the second best selling X1 game probably as soon as the next sales numbers show up if not the week after that for sure.
DialgaMarine (on 07 January 2014)
@sales2099 So bundles make a game's sales less relevant? Does that mean that the sales of games like Halo Reach and Fable 3 can be discounted as well? I think your problem how bad you flip flop. When a ball isn't in your court, you automatically grab a different one. When sales aren't on your side, you argue quality, and vice versa. Why not just accept the fact that GT is a far better selling series, and that Forza 5 is the lowest rated Forza ever as well as the worst seller. It's getting demolished by GT6, and will probably get even more badly beaten by GT7.
sales2099 (on 06 January 2014)
Pezus I expected better from you. Where people like me and Puggsly are defending a IP that is being unnecessarily mocked and others being hypocritical in implying bundles have a negative stigma attached to it....your GT fun facts just add fuel to the fire. I stay off the GT game comments section and I think you should as well.
The IP sells more and better then the average exclusive (without bundles) and is self sustaining. It is very well received with reviewers. It deserves more sales then what it gets. That said, its a great game and lol at the haters who feel the need to overcompensate for their insecurity.
Kyuu (on 06 January 2014)
I still don't get all the bitching about bundles. It's not like they're adding the game for free. If the bundle wasn't there people would have bought a regular console and paid for the game separately, it shouldn't affect the sales all that much.
Mr Puggsly (on 05 January 2014)
Look people... Forza doesn't achieve GT numbers but even without bundles it sells better than most 1st party exclusives.
The series is a success so stop the bitching already.
pezus (on 03 January 2014)
GT3 was a game that moved consoles on its own, so you can't just say "it was bundled 5m times" as if that's only a bad thing. People chose the GT3 bundle because they wanted to.
GT5 doesn't need any defending. You don't reach almost 11m sales on optional bundles without people wanting the game. Forza 4 and 3 both had plenty of bundles, yet they didn't come close to GT5 sales. You don't need to look much further than the launch weeks and first holiday for each game to see the huge difference in franchise size.
So, it's funny when people attack GT games for being mass-bundled, when Forza is mass-bundled as well YET comes nowhere close to its sales.
pezus (on 03 January 2014)
@Puggsly: But they were counted on VGChartz as sales. At least for the UK (because sales matched Chart-Track, which track digital bundles).
sales2099 (on 03 January 2014)
Haters gonna hate. Just shows the mass ignorance when there isn't a official sanctioned bundle even out yet lol. Nevermind the ridiculous amount of GT5 bundles that padded its sales for the past 3 years. :P
People can't accept this series sells millions/profits on its own. Forza 3/4 bundles accounted for approximately 2 million each. The rest of the sales were on their own merits.
Chris Hu (on 03 January 2014)
GT3 will always be the king of sim racer bundled games my guess is that it was bundled at least 5 million times.
Rockyb (on 01 January 2014)
the bundles will help but doesnt seem like it will reach forza 4 numbers,
although forza is king of bundles so its possible
Mr Puggsly (on 31 December 2013)
@ pezus - Those were digital downloads.
@ --OkeyDokey-- - Only bundles thus far have been digital. Regardless of bundles, the series still performs better than most exclusives.
--OkeyDokey-- (on 30 December 2013)
Good sales for Bundleza. Only 400k more bundles till it hits a million!
pezus (on 29 December 2013)
Uhm, excuse me but wasn't Forza or FIFA (your choice) bundled with ALL One pre-orders in Europe?
sales2099 (on 29 December 2013)
Gets limited, retail specific bundles, non sanctioned by MS....Forza king of bundles. Lol. Never mind GT3, which will forever hold that title among the console sims. But why the unnecessary teasing, especially when the game ISNT officially bundled yet? Probably because GT6 sales are falling extremely short of its predesessor and naturally bashing Forza seems to be the next logical move to make......yes guys I am aware Forza 5 sales are still lower....that isn't the point.
iceland (on 29 December 2013)
oooo so clever :) lol also didn't it just have a limited bundle in the UK?
Rockyb (on 28 December 2013)
forza is king of bundles
Chris Hu (on 28 December 2013)
Another way to avoid micro transactions is to sign up for Forza Rewards which gives you free credits at the beginning of each month. You can also ask for credits when you post in certain treads on the Forza website. Also they adjusted the economy not so long ago so now its a lot easier to get credits. Will get the game sometime next year.
WagnerPaiva (on 22 December 2013)
I have this game, the microtransaction thing never came up, if you race one course after another, you will never need to pay for nothing. Cool game also.
thewastedyouth (on 20 December 2013)
Microtransactions all over
sorry Microtrash I am done with you
r3tr0gam3r1337 (on 19 December 2013)
pretty much every next gen game either on XB1 or PS4 has been sold as part of a bundle sanctioned or not, none of the current next gen games can boast of independant sales before bundles.
r3tr0gam3r1337 (on 19 December 2013)
oh please sales there is no need for petty outbursts especially ones like 'insecurity', are you wishing to be banned again cause you are going the right way about it.
retailers are allowed to do their own thing as much as im allowed to post on here providing i follow the rules which unless you can find one word i have used which is not allowed i shall carry on doing so.
sales2099 (on 19 December 2013)
Retailers are allowed to do their own thing lol. There is no official sanctioned MS bundle. Know your industry.
sales2099 (on 19 December 2013)
I don't comment on GT6 wall retro, your insecurity aside, stay off the Forza one. GT IP is just as guilty of bundles.
r3tr0gam3r1337 (on 19 December 2013)
lol its already being bundled
sales2099 (on 17 December 2013)
Should sell a cool 1.5 million and hopefully profit before being bundled. I see this game as a great pack-in to the console. Accessible for all and shows what the X1 can do :)
007BondAgent (on 15 December 2013)
TheSting (on 07 December 2013)
I'll be picking this up in a month or so
roborad (on 03 December 2013)
excellent launch sales.
haven't picked up this game yet, but I eventually will.
busbfran (on 03 December 2013)
Mr Puggsly (on 03 December 2013)
A very nice opening. Doubled my expectation.
