Confirmed to have sold over 5m!
CGI-Quality (on 03 July 2016)
4.96m as of Mar 31, 2016.
Kerotan (on 08 June 2016)
Yes that includes digital. It's had good digital sales but I doubt it's been insane. PS3 digital attach rate was never super high and the game takes up a lot of memory
leyendax69 (on 21 January 2016)
@OneKart: are those retail numbers? This game it's been $15 digital for a while, I bet it has insane digital sales
Roronaa_chan (on 16 December 2015)
Ofc Roborad is nowhere to be seen now
OneKartVita (on 15 December 2015)
Lol they just announced 4.71m for GT6. It will hit easily. That's good considering it launched in the year ps4 launched. Massive adjustments needed.
DamonSalvatore (on 19 September 2015)
NO, read the source!!
It's the same everywhere, it's VIRAG, which is based his numbers on Vgchartz 2014, NOT Sony, and NOT officially (PSU is not an official website, and they are not Sony, they have not corrected their error.... PSU is bullshit)
All is explain in every website which make that mistake:
' VIRAG does not specify the source of their data, their numbers closely match those displayed by “VGChartz” in 2014 – an unofficial and notoriously unreliable website which provides rough estimates of video game sales. Therefore, the numbers reported in the court documents are unverified, outdated, and almost certainly incorrect."

So GT6 = 3,2M without Digital
roborad (on 11 September 2015)
@DamonSalvatore That report was not fake. It was officially confirmed by sony themselves.

It says it right there. GT6 sold 2.37 million.
DamonSalvatore (on 05 September 2015)
NOT overtracked, the 2,37M was Fake, news was updated
So today GT6 = 3,2M without Digital
roborad (on 03 September 2015)
wow, this is way overtracked.
sony just confirmed that gt 6 has sold 2.37 million copies.
just more proof how inaccurate this website's "tracking" is.
OttoniBastos (on 13 August 2015)
I think this game already crossed the 4 million retail. The way this game is still holding on european chartz suggest the game is having some nice legs.
Ninsect (on 12 January 2015)
Hmm but 500k shipped vs. ~370k sold seems off in Japan
TrevDaRev (on 21 December 2014)

Pretty sure the PlayStation Awards give out prizes based on shipped numbers not sold through. But this is Gran Turismo and VGC have shown time & time again that they can't track Gran Turismo properly.
Ninsect (on 04 December 2014)
Badly undertracked in Japan of all places, not a good sign.

"Today Gran Turismo 6 won a Gold Prize at the PlayStation Awards for selling more than 500,000 copies in Japan"
Groundking (on 11 November 2014)
@leyendax69 and @T.Rexington It's most likely already at 4 millions sold. This site has no idea how to track GT despite the fact that P.D. (sporadically) provide shipped numbers for their games plus the region breakdown, we have, as of March 2013, we have GT5 shipped at 10.66, GT5:P at 5.35, GT:PSP at 4.22 Yet we have GT5 at 10.4 more than a year and a half later, I highly doubt that PD haven't shipped 11m+, and GT5:P and GT:PSP both at least 1 million under. Also we've had million+ adjustments to GT5 in the past. We also had data from PD stating that 2.5million people had download the Austin Martin Vision GT car back at the end of August......I'm sorry but there's no way that there are 2.5 million active players with only a 3 mill install base. I'm more inclined to say the game has sold 5 million, but this site can't be talked to and nothing gets changed. We still have GOW3 undertracked by a million FFS.
leyendax69 (on 08 November 2014)
These sales are really sad for gran turismo but it was expected given the circumstances. Still think 4M+ is possible. Hopefully polyphony can return the franchise to its glory on ps4.
T.Rexington (on 26 October 2014)
I want to say lifetime sales will be capped off at 4 million, but with the PS4, I think the best to hope for is 3.5 million. That's presuming it does well during the holiday season.
fluky-nintendy (on 17 September 2014)
#30 this week. Showing some great legs.
Teeqoz (on 31 August 2014)
Wow. This is really undertracked. And I hope they don't remaster it, remasters of racing games would just be too much.
fireburn95 (on 29 August 2014)
I'd rather they work on GT7 than port GT6
WagnerPaiva (on 18 August 2014)
loy310. Agree, for Gran Turismo this sales are embarassing... I hope the remaster comes.
loy310 (on 18 August 2014)
No choice but to remaster this, bad idea to launch so close to the PS4 launch.
Ninsect (on 14 August 2014)
No, it's quite undertracked in Europe so it's probably around 3m WW. It just released on the wrong platform at the wrong time. Would've been perfect as an early PS4 game.
Mr Puggsly (on 14 August 2014)
GT5 was at 6.5 million after 34 weeks on the market. This is shy of 2.4 million. This won't even sell 6.5 million in its lifetime. Unless there is some mass bundling down the road.

On the bright side, this should encourage Polyphony to try harder next time.
Ninsect (on 13 August 2014)
In the words of ethomaz the great: UNDERTRACKEDZ
DEF (on 11 July 2014)
Don´t forget about digital sales and that PS4 remaster with all additional content is more than likely on the way guys.)
T.Rexington (on 03 July 2014)
More than likely a profitable entry, but it was just overshadowed by a console launch that it should have been a part of. Considering the development of 5, this should've been made from the ground up for the PS4. Both MS and Sony made some odd choices. I feel like MS should have release Fable Anniversary for the X1 alongside the 360.
WagnerPaiva (on 27 June 2014)
Accurate placements on celestial nightsky my ass, Poliphony have no idea anymore of how to make a game, how have they fallen.
Dark Chaos (on 27 June 2014)
Horrible sales
Dark Chaos (on 27 June 2014)
Horrible sales
Hawat (on 27 June 2014)
There's a big flaw in your math, you seem to forget that the sales number peak around the release date of a game then the numbers gradually fall until they become close to insignificant. If you want to compare gt5 numbers to gt6 you should compare them during the same lapse of time.
r3tr0gam3r1337 (on 19 June 2014)
a bit of maths for you people who want to condemn GT6 calling it a flop, GT5 sold over 11 million over 42 months so 11,000,000 divided by 42 months = 261904.7619047619 pretty much 261904 per month , GT6 currently sold just over 2 million so 2,000,000 divided by 6 months = 333333.3333333333 so that's 333333 per month, that's 71429 more per month compared to GT5 and people call that a flop.
r3tr0gam3r1337 (on 19 June 2014)
sorry make that GT4 2 years before the PS3 launched thought the PS3 was still delayed a year after it's initial launch for 2005.
r3tr0gam3r1337 (on 19 June 2014)
pro xbox fans need not comment as it's clearly trolling, calling a game a flop because it's sales are lower due to 2 things that are far different from when GT4 was released, the PS4 launched the month before and the PS2's user base was even higher than the PS3's, when GT4 launched the PS3 was delayed and came out over a year later and like i said the user base for the PS2 was far higher than the user base for the PS3, with the PS4 being out at the same time sales for GT6 have been great plus PD are at least committed to releasing content for GT6 completely free, 2 completely new tracks plus 3 new variations on existing tracks plus over 10 new cars and people call that a flop! really.
fluky-nintendy (on 07 June 2014)
v specially in NA. Let's hope it at least inherited the previous games huge legs.
NobleTeam360 (on 28 May 2014)
I'm going to say that this game is a flop compared to the previous entries.
r3tr0gam3r1337 (on 17 May 2014)
so GT4 prologue and Gran Turismo Concept 2001 Tokyo don't exist, it's still selling even with the PS4 out, people are holding back for GT7 on the PS4 to be announced but the rest of us who cant be bothered to wait got GT6 plus don't forget only at the start of this month the servers for GT5 were cut so people have started buying GT6.
WagnerPaiva (on 14 May 2014)
Worst selling Gran Turismo of all time, I guess it is over for Polyphony =/
r3tr0gam3r1337 (on 12 May 2014)
suddenly the servers on GT6 have reached breaking point as thousands of GT fans moved over to GT6 since the GT5 servers were shut down, that sales figure is well under the true number of copies sold, under tracked most definitely.

DialgaMarine (on 09 April 2014)
This game is nothing more than a place holder until we get GT7 on PS4. It's literally free money to Sony, and for what it's worth it's not doing bad.
WagnerPaiva (on 19 March 2014)
2 million, I guess it can get to 3 in the long run. i hope it did not cost much to develop.
fluky-nintendy (on 13 March 2014)
The game will have huge legs. Only because this is the real driving simulator and will be selling like GT4 at the end of PS2' cycle.
leyendax69 (on 17 February 2014)
It wasn't a dumb decision, was a win. This is free money for Sony and PD.
r3tr0gam3r1337 (on 14 February 2014)
don't see how it was a dumb decision when its cost PD/Sony less than GT5 cost to make, these sales numbers have been dumbed down as at the start of January VG posted it had sold over 2 million (i guess they decided to exclude digital copies), i know this has sold over 2 million though an even dumber decision would have been to release it on the PS4 knowing everyone would moan about PS3 cars in a PS4 game, wait for the engine to get the full upgrade treatment while providing an update to the current GT formula, 5.1 million PS4's would not have granted the same numbers sold as releasing on the PS3.
Fusioncode (on 04 February 2014)
It should leg out to at least 5-6m in sales. Not great but alright given the circumstances. Definitely a dumb decision by Sony to release right after the PS4 launch.
WagnerPaiva (on 03 February 2014)
Not that good sales
leyendax69 (on 30 January 2014)
What, adjusted down... VGC can't decide about gt sales, huh?
AshKetchum1992 (on 30 January 2014)
This is a Gran Flop XD

I'm kidding :P
r3tr0gam3r1337 (on 24 January 2014)
so i see VG are knocking down GT6 sales even though there are unaccounted for Digital sales!
Shirrako (on 24 January 2014)
NEW Track Revealed for GT6
Kyuu (on 21 January 2014)
VGChartz, why you so inconsistent with Gran Turismo sales?
Barozi (on 21 January 2014)
Adjusted down by over 300k. Might be a tad too much.
But good to see that ioi is acting on the NPD numbers.
r3tr0gam3r1337 (on 19 January 2014)
its not been over tracked at all in any region, where do you people come from with such stupid nonsense, GT5 is under tracked so is GT5P and GT6 only has one official bundle, to sell over 2 million with the launch of the PS4 just before it those numbers are very impressive.
JustThatGamer (on 16 January 2014)
Almost 200k over-tracked in the US per Dec NPD data. Wonder if it's a similar case of over-tracking in EU too? This game should sell like GT5 Prologue, around 4-5m, unless it's mass bundled for years, then expect 6-7m.
TrevDaRev (on 13 January 2014)
I thought it was lower but I couldn't remember if it was or not. So its FW has been adjusted up by over 100k so far. Like pezus said, its FW will likely be adjusted up again to put it over the 1 million mark for FW.
Groundking (on 13 January 2014)
Is it outrageous if I suggest this will sell at least 3 million in 2014 with 2013 adjusted to 2.5m?
Groundking (on 13 January 2014)
Is it outrageous if I suggest this will sell at least 3 million in 2014 with 2013 adjusted to 2.5m?
late_release (on 12 January 2014)
Gorgeous numbers. Will be a 5M seller to say the least
pezus (on 12 January 2014)
Told ya'll. FW sales were 850k at first.
Kyuu (on 12 January 2014)
It actually was at around 870k at first.
TrevDaRev (on 12 January 2014)
907k. 936k. 976k. 1 million FW soon.
leyendax69 (on 12 January 2014)
First week was adjusted up again... 976k.
r3tr0gam3r1337 (on 12 January 2014)
could someone please remove these spammers comments, i know there perma banned but it would be nice to not see the junk they posted, anyway how come the sales figures for GT6 have not gone up this week, oh and if anyone wants a great car for the "super" licence races just get the rocket 07 and max its upgrades (excluding nitrous) then set its power to 97.7% and drivetrain to 224 mph, its even quite a good car to use in the "like the wind" races when you set its drivetrain to 261 mph and power to 100%, who would have thought a car producing just 335bhp and weighing 390kg could do 265 mph (while drafting a Bugatti veyron).
pezus (on 10 January 2014)
Second adjustment to the first week, then. Won't be long until it's adjusted to over 1m :-D
TrevDaRev (on 09 January 2014)
First week appears to have been adjusted up a bit. Was around 907k before, now 936k.

the comment below gave me cancer.
The game is doing fine. Gran Turismo had all been about the long run, I know it's tracking far behind GT5 but ps4 already launched, and always the second installment on the same console does less.

@ DamnTastic - I think you're ignoring what this series has done in the past.

These sales seem fine to me. But the success of this series always came as a surprise.
DamnTastic (on 02 January 2014)
since when is 1.55m in 3 weeks not doing great? lmao.
pezus (on 02 January 2014)
As always with GT, wait for PD numbers
NobleTeam360 (on 30 December 2013)
Wow Gran Turismo isn't doing all that great.
Groundking (on 28 December 2013)
I'm calling bullshit on those week 2 numbers, 2.5 weeks before Christmas and less than 400k, you've having a laugh VGC, 200k under tracked right there at least, and whilst the Europe number for week 1 are better they're still lower than they should be (Note gt5 numbers didn't fall to these levels until the week after christmas, and was practically flat for the 3 weeks up until the week ending the 25th of december) I have a feeling that VGC are going to have massive amount of egg of their face, when PD release their numbers, AGAIN. But I doubt they'll change anything as they still have GOWIII undertracked by 1 mill and Prologue and GT PSP undertracked by 1 mill. I think numbers will be more like ~1mill for first week then ~600k for second week so 1.5-1.7 mill sold first two weeks then practically flat for the next week and a half before christmas, so after 4 weeks about 2.6mill sold.

Either way Sony fucked up massively by not getting gt out before the ps4, and then by only advertising it before the ps4, and not after (from september to probably the end of october Sony in the UK was doing a 3 way advertising vid, showing off TLOU, B2S and GT6, then after that seemingly nothing but ps4.
pezus (on 28 December 2013)
Dat hold in Europe
fireburn95 (on 23 December 2013)
3 million - 5 million would be a success for this game considering ps4 is out and with close forza competition
r3tr0gam3r1337 (on 22 December 2013)
thanks to the recent Red Bull DLC the microtransaction argument can now fall flat on its a**, after logging in for 5 days in a row i got the 200% login bonus and did just 3 seasonal events and got over 6 million credits in less than half an hour, at the start of the week i had just over 1 million credits while doing a few races to ensure i logged in every day that 200% login bonus is very nice, this is certainly a turning point for anyone wishing to carry on posting negativity towards GT6 having microtransactions as they are no longer needed, remember how a little over 2 weeks ago people were making threads about the XJ13 costing £120 well now with the login bonus it costs £0 as you can easily get 20 million credits in a day, PD continually supporting GT and its fans.

oh almost forgot, the DLC is completely free.
r3tr0gam3r1337 (on 20 December 2013)
how was this game screwed if you don't mind me asking, up to 80 million PS3's sold and a huge fan base for Gran turismo, releasing GT6 on PS4 would have been far worse as the game was in development for the PS3, how much would PD have been criticized for having standard cars in the PS4 game, PD would have been a laughing stock.

by releasing the game on the PS3 much to the delight of fans there are still people out there who want to try to rubbish the game saying things like GT5.5 or its just DLC, well for £50 thats one hell of a lot of DLC and represents excellent value for money when some other games charge £40 for a season pass (usually 6 months worth of monthly DLC) that grants a fraction of the content GT6 has.
supernihilist (on 19 December 2013)
i cant believe Sony screwed this one so much. PS4 and GT6 at the same time was a bad idea
r3tr0gam3r1337 (on 19 December 2013)
the only reason i can think of as to why it's sales are low is due to xmass and the PS4, many people are not buying it as they may have it for xmass or they could be saving up for a PS4 who knows, either way its still doing well as a last hurrah for the PS3.
TrevDaRev (on 19 December 2013)
The European sales seem way too low.
r3tr0gam3r1337 (on 19 December 2013)
im just PMSL at the comments from rival fans posting what is clearly BH FB BS, at least with GT6 if people wish to call it DLC you get new tracks and over 170 new cars new physics and tire engine and more upgrade options, later will be the new track creator yet what has the rival game got that GT6 doesn't, i don't need to go there because there is nothing there in the first place, so £50 for all that DLC is much better value than a half arsed launch game that costs £50 with a fraction of it's predecessor.
Ganoncrotch (on 18 December 2013)
This reuse of the GT5 engine with some bells and whistles added has been bought by close to 1million fans and digitally downloaded by far more and people are saying that Polyphony should have not released it and waited until they had a game ready for the ps4 which drive club is around the corner for ps4 racing fans? Really? This is just them able to keep their fans interested and up to date and also print some money for themselves to prep for their next gen offering.
Groundking (on 18 December 2013)
Pretty good sales for NA, Japan and ROW considering the circumstances, however those European numbers are just awful, and I suspect them to be wrong, with them between 450k and 500k, alternatively they should go up next week as there's no way that the Japan NA and European numbers are going to be similar considering where GT is strongest and the install bases. So maybe ~400k next week for Europe, ~100k Japan ~150k NA and ~50k ROW, also expect these numbers to stay flat for the week after so roughly 2.5 mill sold by Christmas.

@Marks What do you expect from a Japanese company? Of course there's going to be a larger representation of Japanese cars, also it's not their fault for the most part American cars suck, and there are also fewer dealerships in America compared to Japan and Europe.
TurboElder (on 18 December 2013)
Stupid Polyphony, they should release GT6 on PS4 in the year 2015.
007BondAgent (on 18 December 2013)
DealWithIt617 (on 18 December 2013)
This game will not reach half of the sales of previous GT game's. Hopefully now there humbled and go back to making great racing game's. The game is good but not great.
atma998 (on 17 December 2013)
Is it the worst opening week for a GT game?
--OkeyDokey-- (on 17 December 2013)
The car list is like that because those cars have been carried over from GT4, dummy. Once PD gets rid of the standard models, things will be fairly even. They've been focusing hugely on American and European cars since GT5. There were more Ferrari's added to this game than Nissans.

btw, what do you want from Chevy other than Camaros and Corvettes? They've never made anything else remotely interesting. And who gives a shit about Dodge, really? You've got the 2013 Viper, the rest don't matter. American cars are largely shit. The good ones are all here.
Marks (on 17 December 2013)
Another new Gran Turismo...another crap car list. Let's look at some statistics:

Japanese representation:
- 163 Nissans (including NISMO) (53 of which are Skylines)
- 101 Mazdas (50 of which are either a Miata or an RX-7)
- 110 Toyotas
- 73 Mitsubishi (27 of which are Lancers)
- 43 Subarus, which isn't a ton...but 29 of those are Imprezas
- 109 Hondas (34 are NSXs)

American representation:
- 42 Fords
- 61 Chevies (10 of which are stupid NASCAR cars....and 28 are called Corvette or Camaro...where is the variation?)
- 4 Dodge? LMAO what about the new Chargers, Challengers, Dart, even the lowly Neon...etc...??

And you wonder why this game flops in North America...
leyendax69 (on 17 December 2013)
Disappointing europe sales, the rest it was expected.
Turkish (on 17 December 2013)
Digital sales not tracked, probably at +1.2 million.
Turkish (on 17 December 2013)
@Turbo: you never played GT. Getting best cars was always grind work, they're now offering short cuts to those with big pockets. Nothing is missing from the game, it has everything included, unlike a certain other race game.
Pirateogta (on 17 December 2013)
GT6 sold 3 times less than GT5 in its launch week with 2 times the install base. Not looking good...
TurboElder (on 16 December 2013)
Who needs GT5.1 + microtransactions on the PS3? Polyphony became lazy and greedy.
Kyuu (on 15 December 2013)
They deserve the low sales. Hopefully they'll put more care into the next GT for the PS4.
Zax (on 14 December 2013)
Huge flop.
think-man (on 04 December 2013)
Not sure If I'll buy this one, it'll do half the LT sales of GT5.
ktay95 (on 15 May 2013)
The real driving simulator.
So hyped for GT6
