Game Overview

Cave Story 3D is a remake of the freeware platform-adventure video game of the same name that was developed by Nicalis, in conjunction with original creator Daisuke "Pixel" Amaya, and published by NIS America for the Nintendo 3DS. Built from scratch using 3D models, it features a dynamic camera system and an additional level.

Despite being a remake, the game still focuses on the protagonist Quote and Curly Brace as they discover the evil plot by the Doctor, who intends to force the inhabitants of the cave to fight for him in his bid to conquer the world.

@pokeclaudel i played the 3d,
wide-screen version of the game on my
3ds xl. all i can say is whether you
think nicalis is pathetic or not, i
thoroughly enjoyed the game along with
the changes they made. i'm glad they
updated the game.

Just saw that Nicalis is rereleasing the
2d version to support 3d and wide-screen
support. Cave Story was their only
successful game and they just keep
trying to milk it as much as possible.
Pathetic.

I don't really get their thought
process of this. The game is already
available on wiiware and the dsi eshop
not to mention the easily attainable
free pc version. Should have invested
their time in a sequel to the first game
instead of a third remake of the same
game.
