fedfed (on 13 June 2011)
I hope Mario Party 9 will learn a lot form this game on how to generate fun!
BurningWave (on 10 April 2011)
In my view better than Mario Party 8 but I wish there will be a Mario Party 9 that is better than this and Mario Party 8!
Kai Master (on 21 March 2011)
oops, I forgot to adjust for Wii penetration, not only population...
Kai Master (on 21 March 2011)
500k in France as of December 31st 2010, not bad but under Japan's performance (it should have been 910k to match Japan's performance, population adjusted).
Pavolink (on 11 February 2011)
Japan > Americas? and by about 500k. Hope the sales rise and hit 7m end of year
AndyVA (on 04 February 2011)
@mehm Nintendo's graph only was for the US. Here it's together with Canada and other countries in America, so not only the USA
primogen18 (on 03 February 2011)
This game is a blast, but I am happy to see games like Black Ops, Epic Mickey, and Goldeneye doing better weekly now. 3rd party games that get it right deserve some of the shine
SmokedHostage (on 02 February 2011)
I did hit 5.01 with EMMA numbers.
Reconnection (on 30 January 2011)
About to hit 5 mil :P
mehm (on 28 January 2011)
Nintendos graph showed 500k for the US, so it should be adjusted there.
Mr Puggsly (on 14 January 2011)
Its baffling how well these games sell.
spurgeonryan (on 11 January 2011)
wii play was horrendous!! But this is good.
Conegamer (on 08 January 2011)
Am I the only one who's impressed with the quality of these games?
GianCarmen (on 21 December 2010)
Another hit for Nintendo.
Faxanadu (on 21 December 2010)
Mario Party is dead as this game will outsell it easily.
Reconnection (on 20 December 2010)
Probably one of the best games in the genre.
gunslinger (on 20 December 2010)
Hope Mario Party comes out next year
PhantomLink (on 17 December 2010)
Tanks on Wii Play rocks
spurgeonryan (on 17 December 2010)
AS long as it is better than teh horrible soul stealing Wii Play! That darn controller tricked me. ACtually my ex said that hey this comes with a controller.
Strategyking92 (on 16 December 2010)
I actually wouldn't mind owning this, and that is coming from a nintendo hater. It reminds me of my old Mario Party Parties!
primogen18 (on 13 December 2010)
Nintendo showed they could put the most casual brand of games, "Wii ____" and the most generic and overused casual game title suffix, "party", and sell 3+ million in the first 10 weeks.
Nate (on 12 December 2010)
All the shovelware party games have finally caught up with Nintendo in NA.
FreeTalkLive (on 10 December 2010)
This game will pass 6 million
Beuli2 (on 10 December 2010)
The game is still struggling in NA.
Nintendogamer (on 09 December 2010)
3 Million.
Beuli2 (on 09 December 2010)
It surpassed Wii Music LT this week!
chaos20xx (on 03 December 2010)
like i said before i don't see this having problems reaching 6 million
Salnax (on 03 December 2010)
If bundled like Wii SPorts Resort was, I can see this reaching 10 million. Keep an eye on this one! It will be on the top 20 a lot.
bazmeistergen (on 03 December 2010)
The way it is going means it will pass 5 million and probably more.
darkheart709 (on 02 December 2010)
I think the sales are good so far. Not Resort or Fit good but still good. should pass easily pass 3 mill soo
kleen (on 28 November 2010)
I kinda regret buying the game for 50. The game isn't bad but i feel mario party is far better(imo).
Juma009 (on 27 November 2010)
I'm assuming Nintendo can't be upset with these numbers considering how little effort and Money must have been put in this game.
Metallicube (on 27 November 2010)
Hmm, pretty mediocre sales considering it is one of the highly successful Wii series games. Only Wii Music tops this as a bigger disapointment.
payote (on 23 November 2010)
Yeah primogen, if you look at the sales graph for Game Party 3 (http://gamrreview.vgchartz.com/sales/37613/game-party-3/) there's a noticable spike that starts right at Week 52 (October 2010) when Wii Party came out. I bet they're psyched, while Nintendo must be bummed to be losing 30-40,000 units per week to these guys.
primogen18 (on 22 November 2010)
i noticed that too payote, I was wondering where the hell Game Party 3 came from, it's as if it just came from nowhere and people were asking about it at TRU, as you said it showed up on the top 10, then I saw it was a year old game and it puzzled me. I never saw the correlation to Wii Party until now, good find.
payote (on 16 November 2010)
I've been watching the Wii Party weekly sales numbers and I noticed something... bear with me as I lay out a theory... First we have to go back to October 6, 2009, when a "Game Party 3" launched for Wii. It's a party game with a collection of minigames. Sound familiar? Pretty generic title too, right? (In fact I can only think of one title that would be more generic...) Anyway, this game launched with little fanfare and a 37/100 rating from Metacritic. And it didn't sell very well: For 52 weeks those number stayed pretty much static. But then in October of 2010, after a year, its sales suddenly spiked: It went from selling around 7500 copies a week to 4 to 6 times that. Wait... a year-old title suddenly jumps back into the top 30 video game sales across all platforms with an increase of almost 4-6X? What happened? Almost one year to the date from Game Party 3's launch, Wii Party launched. Wii Party's generic name caused customer confusion to the point that some sales of Wii Party probably went to Game Party 3 instead. Consumers went in to stores looking for a party game for Wii with a bunch of minigames. It's a neat little theory, but here's one more point that I think pretty much seals it: Game Party 3 was a North America title only. It was never released in Japan or the EMEAA - so it could cause no customer confusion and have no effect on sales there.
Faxanadu (on 15 November 2010)
I would say at least 5 million. Still, not reaching 10 million would be a disappointment.
nomad316 (on 12 November 2010)
sales are going up ,so there is hope for the title yet.
radishhead (on 10 November 2010)
Disappointing America sales
gunslinger (on 09 November 2010)
I want Mario Party 9. This game is awful.
Kennyheart (on 07 November 2010)
maybe america done with nintendo made party games.
Bobbuffalo (on 02 November 2010)
wow I expected better sales in america. Maybe for christmas? This is a great game. One of the best in the genre.
chaos20xx (on 30 October 2010)
i think 6 million LTD
nordlead (on 29 October 2010)
America doesn't seem to interested in partying...
Juma009 (on 25 October 2010)
another million seller for Nintendo
guiduc (on 24 October 2010)
hum, yeah. 30k first week EMEAA, 120k next? yeah... cool I guess. wtf happened seriously?
Cheebee (on 23 October 2010)
