This is really good number for one multiplatform on Wii!!!
sethnintendo (on 11 November 2011)
Think I pretty much retired this game after around 400 hours of play. Looks like I'll end up in the top 150 for HCHQ. I am pretty sure I am in th top 150 or 200 for regular HC mode all time also. HCHQ is obviously the best option to play since regular mode is for pussies.
oniyide (on 30 September 2011)
if your talking BLOPS then yes they are selling at full price (HD as well incidently) I was talking MWR i havent seen that game full price in a while
primogen18 (on 29 September 2011)
ir is oniyide but i ts not universal, i still see it for 49.99 most places new around here and where i used to live as well unless on sale or used.
Chrizum (on 25 September 2011)
Incredible game, best shooter on Wii by far.
curl-6 (on 06 September 2011)
@oniyide: The next entry will cut the momentum of this one, yes, but not completely; MWR and W@Wii sold a bit more after their successors came out. It should also be noted that unlike previous Wii COD games, this one had to compete against Goldeneye 007; a well made FPS released on the same system at the same time.
oniyide (on 01 September 2011)
so a drop from 50-30 is not a price drop?? Im sure it is
primogen18 (on 27 August 2011)
Price drop? Wii's version of Modern Warfare is still at $30 new most places and around $25 used and still has some legs left to it. I wish they would finally drop it to the < $20 the other versions go for but hey squeeze what they can out of it before they fully drop it I guess.
oniyide (on 26 August 2011)
@curl-6 that might be true, but dont you think the yearly releases are just gonna cut off the legs of these games?? MW3 is around the corner and im sure BLOPS will stop selling, unless it gets a hell of a price drop. Even if we were to go with that thought process, why has this no effect on the HD versions?? Every game sold so far has outsold its predeccessor
curl-6 (on 26 August 2011)
@oniyide: Past Wii COD games have had longer to reach those sales. I don't know how to do a comparison, but I'd bet Black Ops is tracking pretty close to what MW and W@W were at this point in their lifespans.
oniyide (on 23 August 2011)
@primogen18 i see where you are coming from but the games have actually gotten better, but the sales keep getting worse with each installment. I find this strange, while the HD versions keep selling more and more. So either some Wii owners just gave in and got an HD console too play these games or they just said screw it to the series, im going with the former
primogen18 (on 19 August 2011)
I have to say this again, if you played Red Steel, Vanguard, or COD3 Wii as your first shooter would you have much faith in the console enough to keep buying shooters for it? Both had some rough controls and COD3 was stripped of any multiplayer it had even in past gen versions. Had the features in Black Ops been there from the beginning I am sure the Wii audience would have had more trust in the genre from the beginning and they would have built a more substantial audience over the years. Those first few games left a bad taste in alot of people's mouths and it's because alot of developers had the "cannot be done on Wii" mentality. Now we have Black Ops how many years later and the series still sells a million without any struggle meaning activision should consider themselves lucky at this point. Missing and late installments (MW/MW2) and PS3/360 centralized marketing (preordering can be a chore) doesn't help either.
oniyide (on 18 August 2011)
no hate here, but 1 mil vs. ten mil?? it doesnt even compare, and the Wii user base is bigger than the HDs. This series is just not as popular on Wii
Boutros (on 13 August 2011)
I guess it did sell well if you consider all the flaws of the Wii version. I personally bought Black Ops just for the online splitscreen as I usually don't buy Treyarch's CoDs.
primogen18 (on 12 August 2011)
MW3 for Wii should have a special edition and the bonus disc could be MW2, haha.
Arfen (on 12 August 2011)
For all the haters who said this woul not sell well.. see tthat.. million seller in less of a year..and MW3 cnofirmed for Wii.. nice
Fededx (on 06 August 2011)
Modern Warfare 2 should be ported as well. Call of Duty sells well on Wii
ZechsMerquise (on 04 August 2011)
This has passed the million mark, and Activision have confirmed MW3 for Wii. Treyarch's Wii team are developing.
primogen18 (on 29 July 2011)
nothing to be proud of? This series despite what it has against it on Wii is still a guaranteed million seller on the system every single time. You can't even say that about rabbids anymore, or Guitar Hero, not even sonic.
oniyide (on 28 July 2011)
1 mil vs. the ten mil plus on other consoles?? nothing to be proud of IMHO
curl-6 (on 25 July 2011)
Again, Treyarch demonstrates there IS a market for hardcore shooters on Wii.
kanjitech18 (on 22 July 2011)
About dang time
Arfen (on 21 July 2011)
1 million finally!! nice to see it :)
ceronx7 (on 18 July 2011)
1 million :D black ops are greath in the wii ^o^ bravo treyarch you see the wii's people, infinity ward no ¬.¬
TheDarkBender (on 17 July 2011)
1 m next week :D These sales are really good for a "hardcore" wii game! If only games like red steel 2 etc. would sell 1 m ...
swii26 (on 17 July 2011)
not yet... one more week
Triwells (on 16 July 2011)
Good to see it finally reached a million.
spurgeonryan (on 13 July 2011)
For the Wii this is not too bad at all! But I would say with the little amount of games coming out so far this year this should have picked up these last few months? Then the Conduit 2 failing...
primogen18 (on 11 July 2011)
world at war might, cod3 has just been out longer, this will pass the million next week and keep going. goldeneye took the spotlight this year, this still made the million
oniyide (on 08 July 2011)
its July and this thing still hasnt reach a mil?? Sad for COD
Arfen (on 04 July 2011)
2 weeks more to arrive to the million mark
spurgeonryan (on 04 July 2011)
CAn any of these games over take the mediocre COD 3 on wii!!!
spurgeonryan (on 01 July 2011)
If The next COD comes out for the Wii this season then it will help keep the wii going until the next system! I am still a little worried about this year, especially after the super slow first half.
ZechsMerquise (on 01 July 2011)
If the Wii wasn't getting a new COD game this year then PDP wouldn't be releasing the headset again. They're not going to release a headset without a game to accompany it!
primogen18 (on 25 June 2011)
I would hope something, MW3 is a bit more hopeful now that pdp showed off Wii box art. I could see it doing better then black ops (if advertised in any way) seeing as Goldeneye took 1.2 million sales last holiday already and MW3 would have no competition
spurgeonryan (on 24 June 2011)
Another notch up the ranks! Yeah I guess we will see what they do for us. I figure if they want the next game to sell well on the wii this holiday they should give the Wii some love.
primogen18 (on 24 June 2011)
would be nice since they never gave Wii the DLC that was advertised in the booklet for the game itself...
spurgeonryan (on 23 June 2011)
Is the new edition of this game gonna be on Wii?
primogen18 (on 11 June 2011)
Black ops is enjoying some decent legs while Goldeneye is boosting a bit in sales at the moment. Cod3 will also hit 2.1 million soon and W@W 1.8
ZechsMerquise (on 11 June 2011)
A million by the end of July! Woo. What an achievement considering it was up against Goldeneye!
spurgeonryan (on 10 June 2011)
They don't care because whoever gets mad at the game for wii , will switch over to the other consols where games are ten dollars higher. Ofcourse game companies will put out garbage, so then they only have to put them out for the other consoles. Why work to get a "kiddy" console pushed back to the core audience, when you can just glide along hoping that people will keep buying the same gun game over and over and over again on the HD systems. Battlefield, call of duty, gears of war, resistance, darkness, black, halo, homefront, badlands, etc, etc. Yeah different stories, different images, but all still similar FPS made just for online play.
Sfaralli (on 10 June 2011)
1 million seller in few weeks
primogen18 (on 03 June 2011)
boost in sales last week, still has some legs
Kwaidd (on 23 May 2011)
not that activision will give a hoot, but they aren't likely to get my money on their next installment of CoD after their lack of Wii dlc. Perhaps I'll try them again after cafe' releases.
Fededx (on 22 May 2011)
That would be amazing!
primogen18 (on 17 May 2011)
I could see them throwing MW2 on here the same time MW3 comes out on other systems like they did with Reflex. Modern Warfare 2: Reflex Edition...
cromeros (on 16 May 2011)
I don't like this type of games... X)
primogen18 (on 28 April 2011)
agreed kwaid
Kwaidd (on 28 April 2011)
i'd pass on the mw2 for some damned dlc map packs =(
Fededx (on 28 April 2011)
It'll eventually reach 1 million before E3. A version of Modern Warfare 2 for Wii would be sweet Activision.
primogen18 (on 27 April 2011)
you can't say it's not all on the developers and then say somethin about down-ports. Wii does not have to recieve "down ports". Black Ops on Wii has many features that several claimed weren't even possible on the system only a year or so before that, I am sure there are more that are still being left out such as DLC. You have to put in effort which developers aren't. COD3 could have had all the features from the start that Black Ops on Wii has today and more and it would have only gotten better from there , THAT is all on the developers.
Pierreism (on 27 April 2011)
Well it's not ALL to do with the developers. You must factor in the fractured audience for the genre who will inevitably choose the highest-quality choice, and at the end of the day the Wii will always get down-ports of multiplatform games.
primogen18 (on 26 April 2011)
*goldneye and this seem to be selling at around the same pace now
primogen18 (on 26 April 2011)
goldeneye
primogen18 (on 26 April 2011)
ANd yes the same thing CAN be said about any other genre on any other platform because it's all about moulding your audience from the start.
primogen18 (on 26 April 2011)
so what you guys are saying that it was perfectly fine to not even try at the beginning at all? That is quite a horrible view in anything especially if you complain later down the road that things aren't going as well as you wanted. COD3 released as a PS2 port with the multiplayer completely cut out and everything else tacked on. After that whole games were missing and still things were gimped. I guess I could expect to sit around doing nothing all year in school and in the end still expect an A or B because I did good on one of the last assignments because apparently thats how the world works.
Mr Puggsly (on 22 April 2011)
@ Boutros - Exactly. On a side note, Sony and MS made great efforts to appeal to shooting fans by putting out great shooters over the years and giving support to developers. NIntendo really didn't do anything to appeal to shooting and unsurprisingly their platform sucks in that genre.
Boutros (on 21 April 2011)
@primogen18 But that's all very pointless because the same thing could be said about any genre on any platform. "If" and "maybe" don't cut it.
spurgeonryan (on 19 April 2011)
But GE and this together are over 2 million! So it is doing better!
primogen18 (on 15 April 2011)
In a sense the Wii does have a lack-luster FPS following, but it has nothing to do with the console or the audience and everythin to do with the crappy start the genre got off to thanks only to lazy developers.
primogen18 (on 15 April 2011)
I am sure if developers put as much into a game from the start as Treyarch put into Black Ops with the deep online , decent graphics, and polished/customizable controls the FPS genre would be flourishing on Wii. Instead by the time developers gave a crap it was too late and in the beginning we got Red Steel which was ok but the controls were un-polished and it lacked online multiplayer. The COD and MOH ports came with no multiplayer at all and the same un-polished controls/ graphics.
primogen18 (on 15 April 2011)
@MrPuggsly the Wii fanbase was never given a real chance. We will never knwo how big the FPS genre could be on Wii because they were never given a real chance to begin with. Had the Wii audience been given the quality titles and features other consoles had from the start, things would be far different. You can't tell me missing games, crap controls, and and features didn't drive people to avoid such games on the console. You go play Red Steel 1 or COD 3 and lets see if YOU would want more FPS after that.
Mr Puggsly (on 14 April 2011)
@ primogen18 - The Wii just doesn't have a big FPS fan base. Its a lack luster genre on the Wii. CoD a lone can't change that no matter how good they get the ports.
Kwaidd (on 10 April 2011)
hrmm, obviously I meant 85m install base, darned typos. A little more push up front and more support following release woulda been nice though. Why waste the time putting a decent game out if your not going to promote or back it like the other iterations? seems to me like it could only benefit sales
Kwaidd (on 10 April 2011)
i assume it will still break over a million units sold without too much problem and although it pales in comparison to a 805m install base its still decent sales as were the prior entries.
ljlrj (on 09 April 2011)
destoryed by goldeneye XD
primogen18 (on 06 April 2011)
They lost sales of W@W when COD3 released with no multiplayer what-so-ever and people left after that. Then with MW when it arrived on other consoles and left Wii gamers wanting more after W@W, so then some people left and some stayed around. MW eventually came but still missing features and way too late but still some stayed and some left. Black ops came after alot of fans were tired of waiting for something better and had already left, but some stayed with the hopes things like DLC might show up. Of course the people who avoided this game because they had been burned before were only proven right and we are still left with the question as to if first strike or anything like it will come.
primogen18 (on 06 April 2011)
shame to see that between treyarch and IW (mostly IW), the COD series never reached its' full potential on Wii. Sales could have been growing if they only kept up with putting MW out the same time as other systems, keeping up with DLC, releasing MW2,giving equal promotion etc. I hate how people blame Wii gamers for sales that don't match up, it's the fault of developers for constantly burning wii gamers with such issues and pushing people away. It's a shame because they downsized their audience and market. They could have all 3 systems in the 8+ millions...
oniyide (on 05 April 2011)
@conegamer you must be talking retail copies. this thing hasnt hit a mil yet?? Wii owners not feelingit? i can understand
primogen18 (on 03 April 2011)
amazing sale on this game for anyone wanting it at Toys r Us, it's $26 this week only then going back up to $49.99
Conegamer (on 03 April 2011)
I can see this overtaking the PC version LT
primogen18 (on 31 March 2011)
its steady for now at least
Fededx (on 25 March 2011)
It's gonna hit a million, but it's slowing down too fast...
Mr Puggsly (on 23 March 2011)
Just rented this game, its surprisingly ugly. I wasn't expecting it to look like a PS2 game. But if you don't have a HD console I guess it gets the job done.
primogen18 (on 17 March 2011)
now that goldeneye has reached a million it leveled out a bit, this is now selling at a faster pace.
ceronx7 (on 05 March 2011)
i love the wii zapper with this game :3
yahoocom1984 (on 01 March 2011)
PC version sold 1.1 million through retail, and 1.6 million copies on STEAM via DD alone (according to FADE), so that's at least 2.6 million copies
oniyide (on 26 February 2011)
@primogen im thinking alot of PC owners got it on Steam and i dont believe those numbers are tracked
oniyide (on 26 February 2011)
@conegamer you know they could cancel pre-orders. But hell, we'll have to wait and see
primogen18 (on 24 February 2011)
the pc version isn't doing that great either
Conegamer (on 24 February 2011)
oniyide, my theory comes from the fact that WW FW sales were lower than American pre-orders for the game...so undertracking seems most likely ;)
oniyide (on 19 February 2011)
@conegamer what makes you think that???? maybe Wii owners just dont care for this game like the HD guys do. Either people dont care or they just bought it for their HD/PC system
Conegamer (on 16 February 2011)
I reckon it's closer to 1mil now, undertracked game! But we need confirmation before anything happens, and even then, it doesn't always happen...
sethnintendo (on 14 February 2011)
Game deserves more sales which it will eventually get. If it ends up around 1.5-2 million it wouldn't be that terrible.
ZechsMerquise (on 14 February 2011)
Have you got a link to these NPD numbers :) I thought this was undertracked. It's first week sales weren't as high as it's preorders! Surely first week sales should be much higher than preorder numbers!
ECC (on 13 February 2011)
npd said over 500k by dec 31 so its really under tracked.
Conegamer (on 12 February 2011)
Nice legs, holding well
mpereira (on 10 February 2011)
lol
Waxiv (on 10 February 2011)
the last story
yesloow (on 09 February 2011)
750K sold
SaviorX (on 07 February 2011)
NPD said this sold above 500k by Dec. 31 in Americas.
primogen18 (on 04 February 2011)
Lets see you pick up Red Steel and want to play more FPS on Wii. A different story then if you grab Black Ops or Goldeneye, too bad it took years for developers to even try..
primogen18 (on 04 February 2011)
Have you played Red Steel 1 and Medal of Honor: Vanguard Drakesfortune? After that, it killed my interest in FPS on the system, but unlike most people I stuck around til games like Conduit and COD:W@W got it right. Most people gave up and switched or just gave up all together. You said PS3/360 have countless fps's? Well on Wii they are few and far in between, too much for some people. I think Activision is luckly to have million+ sellers in the COD series and Goldeneye.
midorigreen (on 04 February 2011)
switch to the PS360. this is the reason why most FPS on wii hardly get above 1 million because the audience is just not there and third parties have no one to blame but themselves.
midorigreen (on 04 February 2011)
@drakesfortune you have just highlighted the reason as to why FPSs don't sell on the wii. third parties treated the wii like crap and many people who bought the wii looking for a new FPS experience were disappointed and
midorigreen (on 04 February 2011)
@drakesfortune you have just highlighted the reason as to why FPSs don't sell on the wii. third parties treated the wii like crap and many people who bought the wii looking for a new FPS experience were disappointed and
drakesfortune (on 03 February 2011)
And not only that, they are two really GOOD FPS's and they STILL only sold 1.5 mil combined. That is nuts.
drakesfortune (on 03 February 2011)
@topcat That's funny. You had TWO whole FPS's on a console in a year! OMG! I'm sorry. PS360 had countless FPS's, and they probably sold around 30 million copies across all FPS games. 1.5 is TERRIBLE for the leading console of the gen to sell across the two best and only FPS's on the console.
primogen18 (on 03 February 2011)
agreed zechsmerquise
primogen18 (on 01 February 2011)
True. Activision will have 2 million selling shooters on Wii come summer
ZechsMerquise (on 29 January 2011)
@Primogen18: I really hope so, so far very good legs post Christmas.
ZechsMerquise (on 29 January 2011)
@TopCat: correct!
primogen18 (on 28 January 2011)
its showing legs, just like Goldeneye. They will both be million sellers this year, along with the next COD
TopCat (on 27 January 2011)
You have to understand that Last year we had only one shooter to choose from during the holidays.... This year we had 2. Those 2 combined managed to sell over 1.5 million copies, so stop whining about this game not selling enough.
ECC (on 26 January 2011)
this is the best online shooter on wii.
spurgeonryan (on 26 January 2011)
Hmm this game really has sold to everyone who already wants it. Is the wii version getting the additional content? Maybe that will boost sales some? I wonder how much that new content cost to create?
spurgeonryan (on 24 January 2011)
Dont these game eventually get released in Japan as well? They just sell maybe 50,000 copies or something though?
spurgeonryan (on 24 January 2011)
Wow peoples minds change so fast! I just said that BO would barely break a million, but it seems it may catch up to GE in the end and maybe even beat GE!!
oniyide (on 21 January 2011)
@wiifan75 it sucks that the Wii version might not even get DLC. I hope it does, but man this game jumped up, good for it
wiifan75 (on 21 January 2011)
Out of everyone I know, every one has multiple consoles. Either Wii360 or WiiPS3. And all of them bought the HD copy instead of a Wii copy. Sucks for me because I can't play with them online but sucks to be them and play without the pointer. Wish more Wii owners would have picked this up. Zombie online is weird. Can't play it too much though. Gets boring for me. But Team Deathmatch online just rocks. Any DLC coming for COD:BO?
menx64 (on 20 January 2011)
Sales are not really that bad, if you think about it they put 2 games almos together, 007 & BOPs... They are about 1.6 mill combine, and thats not a bad figure, this will probably keep selling after 007 drops...
primogen18 (on 16 January 2011)
i have no doubt this will reach a million, but it's a shame it's just not going faster. I have actually seen posters and large boxes in gamestops and best buys now JUST for the Wii version, it seems a bit late so they missed hyping it up but still.
ZechsMerquise (on 14 January 2011)
Well this can still do a million, after all it's 10 week total will most likely be over 700k, with the legs COD titles usually show this should do a million if we all keep out fingers crossed :)
spurgeonryan (on 14 January 2011)
yeah this is dissapointing isnt it! They give us wii owners a chance with a better game and we blow it!
primogen18 (on 13 January 2011)
rather then scrounging just to reach the 1 million mark, it's dissapointing
primogen18 (on 13 January 2011)
hopefully this has some legs, the best COD on Wii with the most effort it deserves to be at a million already at least.
primogen18 (on 13 January 2011)
now tracking behind reflex... :/
spurgeonryan (on 13 January 2011)
Yeah I know they are great, but I just cannot get used to the wii mote! Wii had a zombie map as well! Cool! It'll be a slow march to a million now!
-PaNdOrA- (on 13 January 2011)
Conegamer, unfortunately the Wii version only came with 1 zombie map :(
Conegamer (on 12 January 2011)
Anyone know how you unlock the additional Zombies maps on the Wii version of the game?
wiifan75 (on 10 January 2011)
This is such an awesome game. I've played the 360 version on my nephew's console and although it looks terrific, I just can't get back to using the sticks to control FPS games. I just love the Wii controls. I can't live with out that any more. This game just kicks arse completely. Didn't get Goldeneye for Christmas so I guess I'll have to buy it myself soon but till then, I'm totally happy with Black Ops. So much fun online.
alexf10 (on 07 January 2011)
fun game....i played it on pc and right now i am playing it on the wii. i have to say the wii version holds up pretty nice
Conegamer (on 06 January 2011)
Impressed with how well the sales have stood up after Holidays! 1 mil in 4 weeks?d
swii26 (on 06 January 2011)
The Wii version is just fine for me... HD is great and all but the wii controls make it more fun to play
spurgeonryan (on 06 January 2011)
Well I dont know about that.. but hey look it just beat Madworld in sales...
primogen18 (on 05 January 2011)
weezy just doesn't understand people like games on different consoles for different reasons. Dual analog black ops could be considered "trash" to some.
RaptorGTA (on 04 January 2011)
really weezy? I own both and find the wii version great. Lack of some things is understandable. Im very happy with this version. I dont see what the problem is.
oniyide (on 04 January 2011)
I dont think GE has much to do with this. HD guys with Wii simply are buying the HD version of Black Ops and Im sure there are more multconsole owners than there are core gamers with just a Wii
spurgeonryan (on 04 January 2011)
ok
weezy (on 03 January 2011)
Excuse my language, youngsters.
weezy (on 03 January 2011)
Compared to the 360/ps3 version, this game rite here for the wii, is fucking trash.
primogen18 (on 03 January 2011)
ive never cleaned it... ever... maybe ill try that eventually but as of now ive never actually done any sort of maintenance on it like that. i know im jinxing myself here I should stop posting lol.
spurgeonryan (on 02 January 2011)
Of course now that I make that comment, my wii just shuts off by itself and I have to unplug it to start over when I play a couple hours of GE? Hope my wii isnt on it slast legs or I will be spending alot of time transfering some games and the miis
oni-link (on 31 December 2010)
I had the 1st generation Wii and has no problem. Well it did freeze once while playing Deadly Creatures but that's the only time in the 4+ years I've had the system. Shouldn't be a problem as the Wii is built like the old Toyota and Lexus; just dependable. I upgraded to the X360S just so that I could avoid the reliability issues of the 1st gen 360; but Wii has no issues like that.
Triadfish (on 31 December 2010)
I am using a Wii with the older Hardware as well and i played Waw to Prestige 5, MW Reflex to Prestige 1 und i reached Prestige 3 in BO. 2 Years Ago, i had freezing Problems in WaW and i bought the lense cleaning set. After using it, my Wii worked fine again. I Think the main Problem is that the Wii Drive Lense is getting dirty after some time and if you dont clean it, Games that use a game Engine with much streaming technology, The Laser may be overheating. Get the Lense cleaning set and use it every 3 months. Other games like SH: Shattered Memories use hardcore streaming on the Wii as well, its not just the CoD Games.
spurgeonryan (on 30 December 2010)
Yeah my kids have pulled our sytem off the shelf about 4 times now. It falls two feet to the hardwood floor, and it still works fine! Oh and I still have my system launch 64 with over 5,000 hours of play time on it working great as well. By the way this game is on sale at Kmart fo 39.99 till the 1st of January 2011!!!
primogen18 (on 30 December 2010)
Nice legs in EMEAA though, this will pass the million soon along with Goldeneye and Epic Mickey.
primogen18 (on 30 December 2010)
I have a launch Wii and have never had a single issue with this game on my Wii, there is definitely another factor to someone's wii just breaking. I treat my system well and it's always in a spot with good ventilation, no problems. You cannot blame a broken system on this game.
NeoStar9 (on 30 December 2010)
Black Ops also can cause you Wii to break. That causes it to lose major points in my eyes. GE was designed for the system. It simply runs better as a result. BO has more features but that means nothing if the experience isn't without issues.
ZechsMerquise (on 29 December 2010)
Look, the single player of Goldeneye is better than Black Ops, but don't start saying Goldeneye is a better package, that is just nonsense. Black Ops has a much better online system, chat and co-op. Goldeneye is a great game, but Black Ops is a better overall package. Both deserve to do over a million.
oni-link (on 28 December 2010)
for not being advertised for the Wii these sales are not bad.
Conegamer (on 27 December 2010)
Good game, best COD, but I prefer Goldeye Wii...just
ceronx7 (on 26 December 2010)
black ops kick the goldeneye ass, except the 64 xD goldeneye 64 is better then wii ¬¬
RaptorGTA (on 26 December 2010)
Goldeneye campaign is better then Black Ops. Online however Black Ops runs over Goldeneye. Theres far more content in BO then GE.
NeoStar9 (on 26 December 2010)
I really hope this doesn't do better then GoldenEye. At least when it comes to the Wii version. GE is such a better package overall.
primogen18 (on 24 December 2010)
yeah it almost doubled in americals
J.U.N.O (on 24 December 2010)
Actually it went up, and by a lot.
spurgeonryan (on 22 December 2010)
Going up in EMEAA, but down in America. It will still sell well in the end on the wii so no worries.
oni-link (on 21 December 2010)
@primo, goldeneye is suffering the same supply problem facing the big box stores in my area as well.
bezi84 (on 19 December 2010)
Goldeneye´s campaign and in general playability is way better!
primogen18 (on 17 December 2010)
*The TRU I work at I mean.
primogen18 (on 17 December 2010)
I would consider supply problems? The TRU simply didn't get much of this in, it was selling decently until we stopped getting it sometime over a week ago. We haven't seen a copy since and people HAVE asked about it...
ZechsMerquise (on 17 December 2010)
The competition with Goldeneye has really hurt it, and that's bad as Black Ops is the better game. The multiplayer is the best on Wii.
bmmb1 (on 17 December 2010)
@ZechsMerquise true but if you look closer at the numbers you will see that seasonal bump or not, it is still competing well with Goldeneye in the Americas, it's EMEAA where it's got left behind by Goldeneye.
alexf10 (on 16 December 2010)
i tink "problem" is this time it has good competition with goldeneye
ZechsMerquise (on 16 December 2010)
@ Rustuv: Not any more it isn't. It seems to be tacked lower and not enjoying the usual seasonal bump COD games get. Very disappointing.
Rustuv (on 14 December 2010)
this is really only selling bad by comparison. it's selling on par if not better than the other call of duty games on Wii, which have all sold over a million. it's also competing with Goldeneye, which Nintendo fans are bound to be drawn to more.
bazmeistergen (on 14 December 2010)
The issue isn't the controls Drake, it's the fact that this is very much a teen-twenty something male game and the Wii is the most balanced in its demographic. Lads like bells and whistles and make funny noises when you tell them you play it on Wii. This will make it to a good million and Goldeneye somewhere near 2 million.
spurgeonryan (on 14 December 2010)
ACtually I seem to struggle on Goldeneye for wii because controls are no match for people using the motion. you just have to practice at it I guess. Alot of people including reviewers like playing teh wii with the motion control. I do for games like wii sports resort but these games...im with you drakes.
drakesfortune (on 13 December 2010)
very poor sales compared to PS3 and 360. It's no a surprise though. If anyone has a choice, who would want to control this game this way? The coolaid isn't strong enough.
primogen18 (on 13 December 2010)
And also no special editions, which seems petty to many but believe it or not will tip the scales for alot of people. It's just another way they seem like they aren't even trying to reach "hardcore" gamers in the Wii audience or even create them.
primogen18 (on 13 December 2010)
I think there is just more exposure of FPS's to HD gamers then to the Wii audience. In general there is always less exposure, less marketing, and less attention to Wi versions of these games. They don't have nearly as much of a chance of reaching actual sales potential. Alot of people believe Black Ops simply never came out on Wii, those are the ones who read magazines like Gameinformer (which leaves out Wii versions of just about every multiplafprm game), ask gamestop employees, walk into best buy where you have a wall of Black Ops for PS3/360 with no Wii version mentioned, or look at most promotional material. Clearly they just don't want to market it to Wii gamers even though it shows potential in that market, they don't care. This is showing some good legs though and will reach 1M+ for sure, but it could be alot better if more of the Wii audience knew about FPS games and given the chance. No demos, nothing on the Nintendo channel, no "beta versions" of any kind, nothing to expose more people then those who already know about it.
oniyide (on 10 December 2010)
"than"
oniyide (on 10 December 2010)
@swii26 the HD systems have a MUCH highter fanbase for FPSs on Wii not to mention that those versions are usually superior
swii26 (on 10 December 2010)
It sure seems like all the PS3 and X360 users just sit and wait for great titles and immediately run out and get them. This game sells 1m plus on each of the systems in its first week and the sales on wii are gradual.
spurgeonryan (on 10 December 2010)
Well its a hit anyways already, everything else is just icing on the large cake.
cunger (on 09 December 2010)
I guess Call of Duty's game next year will be on the 3ds. I wonder if it will be developed by Treyarch or the guys that have been doing the DS ones.
postofficebuddy (on 09 December 2010)
Why isn't this getting released in Japan? I mean the 360 version got released there.
Conegamer (on 09 December 2010)
Good to see how this game can easily beat 1mil at this rate!
stallion_420 (on 09 December 2010)
looking at previous call of duty titles and they way they track from launch I would expect Black Ops to follow the same trend and as a result should easily outsell the PC version.
oniyide (on 08 December 2010)
as for advertisment, I think the reason they dont advertise is because they know the game will sell 1mil no matter what, why spend the money on ads if your gonna get the same results anyway. its not like the people who need to see commercials would buy this game for Wii anyway. Also MS has a monopoly on ads for COD, but the PS3 version is still doing great, whats PS3's excuse
oniyide (on 08 December 2010)
i highly doubt that the Wii version is outselling PC, we seem to forget that their is something called Steam and I imagine most PC users are using that and since we cant track digital sales we wont know the true PC #s
primogen18 (on 08 December 2010)
*EMEAA
primogen18 (on 08 December 2010)
nice to see EMAA stepping up a bit
primogen18 (on 05 December 2010)
its tracking better then the PC version now, lol
Conegamer (on 04 December 2010)
How can a front-loaded FPS on the other systems have a better 3rd week than its first WW on the Wii???
GianCarmen (on 03 December 2010)
Yea you are right Hobowan, but also imagine if they had advertised Black ops.
Hobowan (on 03 December 2010)
always been the problem primogen18. as you say, most wii games arent given a chance at retail, so how are sales expected. gaming shops have much to answer for! nonetheless, this should do well, and put in a better black friday figure than goldeneye. imagine what the sales would be if they werent competing?
primogen18 (on 03 December 2010)
lol, best buy doesnt carry this game. I didn't see it in the huge black ops display along with the other versions or at the Wii games section, wtf. Shame some games on Wii are literally not even given a chance to sell what they could
ZechsMerquise (on 03 December 2010)
@ Menx64, it seems to be following the same pattern as the other COD games on the Wii! Fingers crossed it carries on, as it really deserves it, it's such a gem of a game!
menx64 (on 03 December 2010)
@ZechsMerquise, it is seems the sales just began, 3 week better than 1st...
pimpcoop (on 30 November 2010)
Activision is getting really lazy with this game. It is a great game, but it still feels like it is missing something.
primogen18 (on 27 November 2010)
hope to see that nice black friday boost, we sold a bunch at my store anyway.
MarioGalaxy (on 27 November 2010)
COD:BO starts better than ModernWarfare Reflex (in Americasans EMEAA), and Reflex is over 1,2 milion copies right now, so I guess this game reach the 1 million mark again, like every single Call of Duty launched for the Wii. So, why ACTIVISION is so lacy in terms of advertising this games? I don't undestand. With a major publicity campaign this game coul easily reach the 2 million mark or even more!!It's a Shame!
ZechsMerquise (on 27 November 2010)
@ Menx64, I really hope this does a million, it really deserves it, it's an amazing game. I hope it gets a massive sales bump at Christmas like the others did!
menx64 (on 27 November 2010)
Following the normal pattern now--- Future million seller...
Fededx (on 26 November 2010)
Compared to its HD cousins, it's selling BAD. But, as a good Wii game that came out in a month with other 5 AWESOME Wii games, it's doing quite good!
MarioGalaxy (on 26 November 2010)
Tu inglés es muy bueno Arfen, no te preocupes ;) Your english is so good Arfen, don't Worry. I expect sales for this game 'll rise a lot from now until Xmas. Previous COD games did on the Wii by the same period.
Arfen (on 25 November 2010)
here in spain (and otther countries) the game will be relesed tomorrow, 26th november.. maybe next week and on from then the sales will increase... and... sorry for my english :s
primogen18 (on 24 November 2010)
just got the patch, online works flawlessly and smooth t hanks to my wired connection. I hope this picks up like the last few COD titles.
uno (on 21 November 2010)
This game is PHENOMENAL
primogen18 (on 20 November 2010)
these sales are odd, it also had more pre-orders then the PC version which was higher then these first week sales. I sold a few copies myself where I work..
ZechsMerquise (on 19 November 2010)
@ Triadfish this leaves out the whole of continental Europe where the game was delayed by 10 days. Also, as I stated the earlier, the numbers are fishy because the Americas sales figures were actually lower than the preorder sales figures of the game for the region. Even with these problems it's still sold 33% better at launch than any COD game on the Wii. I really hope it does a million
Triadfish (on 19 November 2010)
CoD 3,4 and 5 had only 50-60k first week sales on the Wii and they all reached more than 1 Million lifetime sales, so the 85k first week sales of CoD7 without germany are really good. This could become the best selling CoD on Wii.
Triadfish (on 19 November 2010)
The german Version isnt included and Germany is a strong market for Wii Shooters. The other CoD Games for Wii didnt sell better in the first week. This one will easyly reach 1 Mio+ Sales with dtrong legs as CoD 3,4 and 5 on the Wii.
Conegamer (on 19 November 2010)
Strangeness
Mr Puggsly (on 19 November 2010)
Ouch, bad opening. They went the extra mile to make this great for Wii and it probably won't sell much better.
ZechsMerquise (on 19 November 2010)
Bizarre numbers there. according to VGChartz own preorder charts this game had 71k preorders, yet first week sales were less than that? Hmmm, I would have expected with 71k preorders for this to have done at least 80k in it's first week, not LESS than it's actual preorder numbers!
Salnax (on 18 November 2010)
@chaos20xx From what I've seen, goldeneye. That's what exclusitvity does.
chaos20xx (on 17 November 2010)
Which one has better visuals? this or goldeneye?
primogen18 (on 17 November 2010)
the first week sales for the other past COD games sucked too, this one is already ahead because of the pre-order numbers in Americas.
NeoGohan (on 17 November 2010)
Really good game, but first week sales sucks :( i hope it gets better
Fededx (on 17 November 2010)
Two great shooters on Wii, both out in the same month... Both from the same publisher... I really hope both sell good. Goldeneye is selling, this one's gonna have a though start...
Zornica (on 16 November 2010)
how can this sell when the wii version wasnt even released in main europe yet?
pokeclaudel (on 16 November 2010)
I just can't see this game doing well not with goldeneye being out at the same time
ZechsMerquise (on 14 November 2010)
Can't wait to see what this did week one, I hope it does a million, I've got it and it really deserves the sales. It's a great game.
bazmeistergen (on 12 November 2010)
Both gonna get a million Curl. Goldeneye by some distance.
curl-6 (on 08 November 2010)
This and Goldeneye are sure to cannibalise each other's sales with releases so close; question is, which one will eat the other?
Kwaidd (on 07 November 2010)
had an absolute ton of fun with Reflex, can't wait to see what Treyarch have done for us with Black Ops. Hope my high hopes aren't let down. only a few more days to find out!
spurgeonryan (on 29 October 2010)
Lets hope that this and goldeneye do well! Although hopefully since this is its own game unlike the last one it gets more sales or even a million may not be enough in sales!! P.S I hope the conduit 2 does well as ...well.
Paul (on 26 October 2010)
Anyone going to try to set up another league when this gets released?
primogen18 (on 26 October 2010)
good to see this show up in the pre-order charts. First COD wii game to do so, definitely a good sign.
ash3336 (on 30 May 2010)
curl-6,

This game is not a port. This game is built from the ground up by a separate dedicated team at Treyarch. Just because its separate doesn't mean its a spinoff from the main game, the game has the same story, missions, co-op, and online as the other consoles but just developed to take better use of Wii's features. This means a better framerate than MWR, and better graphics. :)
uno (on 29 May 2010)
This game will outsell the hlel out of of Conduit 2.
ash3336 (on 20 May 2010)
150k+ WW First Week.
curl-6 (on 20 May 2010)
I hope it's a better port since it's being made alongside the other versions.
scof (on 19 May 2010)
I'll buy it! I hope Treyarch will create a better graphics engine..
uno (on 18 May 2010)
soooooo excited. Its gonna be better than MWR and WAWii. Treyarch has only made their games on the Wii better.
-PaNdOrA- (on 17 May 2010)
Hopefully the zombie mode is included in this version >_
morenoingrato (on 14 May 2010)
wonder how this will sell...

This is really good number for one
multiplatform on Wii!!!

Think I pretty much retired this game
after around 400 hours of play. Looks
like I'll end up in the top 150 for
HCHQ. I am pretty sure I am in th top
150 or 200 for regular HC mode all time
also. HCHQ is obviously the best option
to play since regular mode is for
pussies.
