A fun pick-up-and-play Mario based
sports title before they became
redundant!! This game features 14
different playable characters and 6
different 18 hole courses. 4 extra
characters are obtainable via the N64/GB
transfer pack and a copy of Mario Golf
on Gameboy. Most of the characters are
recognizable from previous Mario titles
but they did create 5 new characters
exclusive to this game.

Mario Golf
has plenty of unlockables that will keep
you busy for hours playing single
player, but the true strength of this
title is the multiplayer games. There
are many variations of golf to make the
game more interesting and keep its
appeal, such as the club slots where you
and your opponents get clubs selected at
random via a slot machine to play with
(can be funny/frustrating to play a hole
with all woods or all irons).

While
this game is a lot simpler than title
such as Tiger Woods or even Hot Shots
Golf it still has its fair share of
different game mechanics. It has varying
wind levels, full set of real clubs,
different golfer strengths/weaknesses,
power/accuracy meters, sloped fairways
and greens and vastly different courses.
