1 million, congrats. Worth every sale. Best hacknslash after Castlevania.
TrevDaRev (on 16 March 2012)
137th PS3 Million seller.
Slimebeast (on 28 December 2011)
The game ending promised a sequel. It ctoo ould take place in Hell.
Salem (on 06 September 2011)
Id love a sequel, but I dont think people would like the other parts of the divine comedy as much as hell
Slimebeast (on 14 May 2011)
I like this game a lot. It deserved higher sales. Hope it still gets a sequel.
thelastsoldier (on 23 January 2011)
i didnt hear about it until after i got this on New years Eve
Salem (on 21 January 2011)
Im getting the Death edition, so i can play as isaac
thelastsoldier (on 01 January 2011)
just bought the divine edition on Amazon the other day, i will give it a try
postofficebuddy (on 03 December 2010)
This sold well enough in Japan to get a re-release. It probably sold slightly better than what we have it at here.
Salem (on 13 November 2010)
This is still selling quite well, should hit 1 mil on both consoles next year
binary solo (on 03 May 2010)
This will probably end up being a game I want to play that I just never get time for because better games are out there that I've yet to play. And more games will come that I'd prefer to play. Too bad really because I think this game has some good points to it that aren't completely cloned from GoW. Darksiders is another game I'll probably never get round to playing.
Mr Puggsly (on 24 April 2010)
@ oni-link
I'm not crazy about GoW, but its better than this.

The story in this game was solid. In fact, the story is what saved this from being complete crap. But the game itself feels incomplete and uninspired.

This is worth a rental or purchase at a bargain bin price.
axumblade (on 23 April 2010)
I could see this game eventually hitting a million after a price cut and a holiday season.
Drylidan (on 17 April 2010)
In Comparison with GoW I+II it's very poor. Not the hellish clone, i tought it would become.
oni-link (on 08 April 2010)
@pugsly
Hmmm...so I guess you think GOW is also a very mediocre hack and slash? Honestly, I had flashback of playing Kratos when playing this game; and I think that's the main reason for all the bigotry this game is receiving!!! It's a fun game with a very inspired storyline; give it a chance people! Awesome moments that rival GOW are the battle with King Minos and Cerebrus.
oldschoolfool (on 08 April 2010)
this game is severly under-rated in my eyes.
aragod (on 06 April 2010)
@oni-link God of War is your answer, why should anyone get poor man's version of the best hack'n'slash?
leo-j (on 26 March 2010)
having played god of war III actually makes me want this game
krimoz911 (on 18 March 2010)
The fact that this had a super bowl ad that cost millions makes feel more sorry for it.
Mr Puggsly (on 13 March 2010)
@ oni-link
Maybe you played a different game. Because this is a very mediocre hack n' slash in my opinion.

Anyone who pays more than $20 for this was ripped off.
Rawnchie14 (on 04 March 2010)
Maybe a price cut will help this game, I enjoyed it personally - I hope it does well.
oni-link (on 03 March 2010)
Massive disappointment despite it's "HUGE" marketing campaign and amount of effort put into this game. This is A VERY good game that did not get picked up by gamers in both consoles for some reason.
hotrod1 (on 03 March 2010)
Well..what can i say..going to hell iz cool an all..but they should have put more time into this game with more hell spawns..different eneimes to fight..fighting the same people over again gets tired..a quick fix before i pick up my "GOD OF WAR" Ultimate edition $100 bucks..cant wait.
Vashyo (on 22 February 2010)
Rather slow start, might get a good boost when the price gets cut. Games like Bayonetta and GoW III will also eat its sales.
Munkeh111 (on 21 February 2010)
Decent start... will probably crawl to 1m
restored_lost (on 21 February 2010)
well i like god of war, and i thought dante's level design was annoying as hell, the puzzles wern't fun and the enemies repetitive, so no, bottom line is people who like god of war will not ALWAYS like D.I. combat was very enjoyable tho, love the good and evil split of powers.
oldschoolfool (on 20 February 2010)
good game under-rated though.
DraconianAC (on 20 February 2010)
Because most of us have a select amount of funds and can't buy everything that's just been released. 3 new releases will set one back $180 + Tax. Buying this game set me back buying Ocean Star. Wasn't an easy decision, but its one I don't regret.
C_Hollomon (on 20 February 2010)
Why people not buying this game?
binary solo (on 16 February 2010)
In the showdown of the pre-GoW III slashers (D.I., Bayonetta and Darksiders) this game (PS3 version) has taken first blood with the highest opening week sales in Others. Bayonetta (PS3) will be > all for Japan. So opening week victory will come down to who takes out the Americas. So far, with the D.I. numbers yet to come in Darksiders (X360 version) has America at 175K.
DraconianAC (on 16 February 2010)
I never played any of the GOW games, but my interest was peeked by Dante's Inferno. I wanted to see what it was about, and after beating it, I've decided to buy the GOW collections. People need to stop bashing this game just because its like some other game.
DevilishSix (on 15 February 2010)
urameshixr

Well GOW was not original by any means, it took combat from Ninja Gaiden and Devil MAy Cry, stole the chained blades from Rygar, Resident Evil 4 did QTE's before, then they throw a Greek Methology story to it....That doesn't mean GOW is a bad game and Dante's Inferno is a good game as well. Also if your expecting GOW 3 to be innovate you will be sad. IT will still be good....bottom line is anyone who likes GOW will like Dantes Inferno.
urameshixr (on 15 February 2010)
rip-off god of war 3 IMO.

DevilishSix (on 15 February 2010)
This is a really cool game and I guess 54,000 isn't bad for 2 days sales. If you are on the fence on this game, I play alot of this genre, Ninja Gaiden, GOW, Bayonetta, DMC, all of them and Dantes Inferno is very fun, nice combat, and very atmospheric.
sepisfu (on 14 February 2010)
it is good game , i give it 8.5
god of war III will be better
Wagram (on 14 February 2010)
Just because you think God of War is better doesn't mean it sucks. I actually enjoyed it quite a bit.
Killzone2KingFPS (on 13 February 2010)
what a fail these game sucks it never had a chance against God of war it sold nothing on the PS3 and even the 360
Wagram (on 13 February 2010)
Beat the game today. I would rate it a 8.3/10. The cut scenes were awesome, except the ones with the floppy penis of course. But the bewbs!!!
Ghazi4 (on 13 February 2010)
and this is supposed to sell near god of war 3?? lol
Pilat (on 13 February 2010)
Exact calculation of stupid people
snyperdud (on 12 February 2010)
50k for one day isn't terrible.
I imagine it'll fair better in NA.
Silentium (on 12 February 2010)
Only 54k in Europe? :/
Wagram (on 12 February 2010)
I am really enjoying this game. Definitely a good warm up for GoW3. This game is pretty sweet though!
Silentium (on 10 February 2010)
Got the Death Edition today and playing it on hellish... F'ing awesome :D
droganmaster (on 07 February 2010)
I wonder the diffrence between the death edition and devine edition...
ChrisIsNotSexy (on 04 February 2010)
I prefer the PAL boxart
haxxiy (on 02 February 2010)
It should beat DMC4 if everything goes alright.
Silentium (on 31 January 2010)
Shame on everyone who purchases this but not GoW 3 :P

Just buy both or at least GoW3, guys!
binary solo (on 28 January 2010)
Enjoyed the demo. Will at least be a rental for me. Or if it makes it to platinum status I'll buy it then.
dark_gh0st_b0y (on 25 January 2010)

but is a bit too dark : P
sjhillsa (on 28 December 2009)
Same here, enjoyed the demo, great framerate. Good fun riding the beast :) Recommended!
PDF (on 12 December 2009)
loved the demo. left me wanting more
XiaoMay (on 10 December 2009)
May (Will ?) hardly reach 500k. Looks hood
Slimebeast (on 05 December 2009)
My current prediction says over 1 million copies lifetime for the PS3 version easily.
TT Makaveli (on 27 October 2009)
shame on that 1 to 1 clone of God of War!!!!
Esiq (on 12 October 2009)
If they can use the full potential of the PS3 its a definite buy for me.
Alby_da_Wolf (on 07 October 2009)
Italian teachers will adore it! :-D
haxxiy (on 23 September 2009)
God of War: Dante's Inferno haha.
*~Onna76~* (on 23 August 2009)
@Piccoro, that's exactly what I am thinking! When I was looking at the screenshots I had to look for the game title to be sure it ain't the wrong game I've clicked.
Slimebeast (on 14 August 2009)
My early prediction says 850,000 copies lifetime for the PS3 version
silicon (on 04 July 2009)
The same people made Deadspace, which means this game will at least have amazing atmosphere
piccoro (on 26 February 2009)
Some people say it looks like God of War
