One of the many bastard sons of Rogue, Angband is one of the purer roguelikes focusing on the dungeon crawling experience and the crafting of your character to overcome the dangers of the dungeon. Loosely based around the works of JRR Tolkien from which it borrows the names for the most dangerous boss encounters, Angband is one of the finest computer RPG experiences to be found and it is not only free, but also multiplatform.
