Otakumegane (on 05 February 2013)
Man this game sold more in NA than JP.
Boxart sells games.

Mad55 (on 07 August 2012)
Im back again my lovely symphonia!!!! lol
Cheddarchet (on 15 June 2012)
Both my first and favorite Tales game to date (though Vesperia is a pretty close second). Still mad that my first disc got scratched, so I'll have to buy a new copy if I ever want to replay it...
Adamx509 (on 02 May 2012)
I love this game, best game on GC! Im glad I still have my copy, I just need to buy a wii in order to play it :/

Mad55 (on 20 June 2011)
Im back baby!!!! this is my favorite game of all time nothing compares in my mind.
TheConduit (on 07 May 2011)
This game shows why Tales games should be released outside of Japan.
Sunshine (on 13 March 2011)
My favorite Tales game besides Legendia (yes, I like that game)
Mad55 (on 03 May 2010)
destiny didn't hit 1 million on one platform either.
Son1x (on 05 December 2009)
This isn't the only or first Tales to hit million. Thats Tales of Destiny, which sold 1.14m. This one didn't even hit 1m (without counting PS2), it sold 0.95m as of 11.12.2007 and I doubt it sold 50k after that date.
TheConduit (on 27 September 2009)
Sales for main series tales games in order of highest to lowest with multi platform sales combined into one figure.

Tales of Phantasia (SNES, PS, GBA, PSP) 1.22m
Tales of Destiny (PS, PS2) 1.2m
Tales of Symphonia (GC, PS2) 1.1m
Tales of Destiny 2 (PS2, PSP) 0.92m
Tales of Eternia (PS, PSP) 0.91m
Tales of Rebirth (PS2, PSP) 0.66m
Tales of Vesperia (Xbox360, PS3) 0.64m
Tales of Abyss (PS2) 0.57m
Tales of Innocence (DS) 0.26m
Tales of Hearts (DS) 0.25m
TheConduit (on 26 September 2009)
First and only tales game to surpass 1million

PS: dont know if other cross platform Tales games combined passed the mark
tehsage (on 25 September 2009)
One of my favorite RPGs ever
TheConduit (on 06 July 2009)
Best in the series to date
Jeremy092387 (on 13 June 2009)
Not my favorite Tales game, but damn is it good. I'm glad it enjoyed great sales, but Namco needs to learn to advertise more. Abyss and Vesperia deserve sales similar to this.
Hark21ball (on 30 April 2009)
I agree with Xen 100%
Incandescence (on 12 April 2009)
Nice game. Graphics could have been better and the writing and dialogue was fairly iffy, but the game was generally very good, 'specially the VA, contrary to what most say. Kari Wahlgren does a pretty sexy Raine.
siavm (on 29 March 2009)
This is one good RPG. I just got and beat it recently. It had a good story, characters, and a great battle system. Even though it sequel is not getting good reviews. I am going to play though it.
Xen (on 21 March 2009)
Absolutely terrific. The graphics, character development, and battle system are its strongest points.
Riot Of The Blood (on 17 March 2009)
These were the best RPG graphics last gen. hands down
JTurner82 (on 25 January 2009)
Definitely one of GameCube's finest RPGs. Great characters with well-suited voices (contrary to what some folks here say, I actually liked the voice work in this game), long, intriguing gameplay, and an epic and engrossing (if cliche) story. Excellent game all around.
Soriku (on 03 January 2009)
I'm happy Smoked is banned ATM ^_^
MANUELF (on 20 December 2008)
Great game, Im liked this more than the Wii one.
SmokedHostage (on 06 December 2008)
I hated this game.. the characters felt cliche, the voice work was abysmal and the world map was lacking, it also felt more like a field trip than an adventure.
Lord_Yggdrassil (on 28 November 2008)
This game sold well outside japan because of NINTENDO.
novasonic (on 28 November 2008)
this and zelda oot are the only two games that have ever pulled a tear out of the corner of my eye as the credits rolled by..
salaminizer (on 14 October 2008)
got it recently.. just left the desert ruins, have to say that I need to play more RPGs like this, concerning battle, skills, and things to do. and the voice acting is terrible.
Senrii (on 17 September 2008)
Lol, I just started playing this game again today, because of the new ToS.
And it's still a great game.
Jo21 (on 15 September 2008)
i keep my gamecube just because this game =)
Neos (on 12 September 2008)

Many weeks after launch, Tales of Symphonia appears back in the charts. We go to the man behind the miracle:

Interviewer: Sir, how does it know to feel that you've single-handedly convinced thousands of people to buy this game?

Soriku: Very rewarding.

Interviewer: I'm sure it is!

whacker41 (on 02 July 2008)
Great game. I think i read on wikipedia that it sold 1.2 mil, and this was a while ago.
elgefe02 (on 02 July 2008)
great awesome game... I finish up twice
Jeronimo (on 18 June 2008)
Great game! If you defeat all the extra bosses and get all the extra items, the game will take aroud 80 hours to complete! Can't wait for the sequel to be released!
Leni (on 10 June 2008)
one of the best ever!!

also, the idea with two disks was awesome and the story was so long....

awesome game, and i know Wii version will be even better, i can't wait!! : )
Soanevalcke (on 08 June 2008)
Best RPG on Gamecube.
Wickedshyn (on 03 June 2008)

Soriku (on 06 April 2008)
So did you get ToS Starcraft? Did you beat it?

TALES OF SYMPHONIA
StarcraftManiac (on 15 March 2008)
TO13, i'll borrow it from you sooner or later... For now, i still have lots of games to play... But the time will come! When i borror this game from either you or J***en. :-)...
T013 (on 13 March 2008)
One of the greatest games ever. Funny though, how some people think the storyline is boring while others (like me) are completely mesmerized by it. It might depend on how much you allow yourself to get immersed in it, and how many other RPGs you've played (in my case, zero apart from Paper Mario). Anyhow I think this is the best story I've ever seen in a game: complete, surprising, compelling and grandiose. The somewhat stiff and boring art style is a shame, but the intense combat, story, immense play length and terrific replay value more than make up for that.
I completed it 5 times. In a 40+ hour game (70 for my first playthrough), that is some sick replay value.
Psycho1984 (on 04 March 2008)
Found it for 19,99$ 2 weeks before Wii launch, I bought it........................and this is probably my favorite GC game, went through it 3 times, and I never do that kind of thing^^
viewtiful_jon (on 02 March 2008)
Really want to replay this but there is so many games i have never completed once and they must come first.
Punisher (on 09 February 2008)
Best Rpg on GC. (well, there weren't that many to begin with, but still) Awesome game. Maybe i should start from beginning again. :p 9/10
Faxanadu (on 02 February 2008)
Very good game. Only issues: the graphics look "unfocussed" quite often. also, those storys you can start with the Z button take forever and you can only abort but not move them faster.

overall, i really like it though.
Sky Render (on 27 January 2008)
Though I do agree that this game is quite good, I can't help but think that the lack of RPGs in general on the GameCube helped fuel its sales more than a bit in the US. I mean, this is the only incarnation of a Tales game that's sold better in the US than in Japan! Tales of the Abyss is a better game (in my opinion, of course), and yet, it ended up doing far worse in the US because the PS2 has no lack of good RPGs whatsoever.
AkiraGr (on 07 January 2008)
Excellent game best battle system yet on a JRPG, best original score for JRPG and NO RANDOM BATTLES!!! Best RPG for the GameCube since the re-release of Skies of Arcadia. I can't wait for ratatosk.
famousringo (on 04 January 2008)
I didn't enjoy the combat system and the voice acting occaisionally got on my nerves. I do like the presentation, though.
Leni (on 24 December 2007)
amazing game!!!
gamingdevil (on 09 December 2007)
Amazing!!! 10/10 of course!!
josenieves1 (on 07 December 2007)
Excellent game! 10/10.
KohlyKohl (on 07 December 2007)
The very fun battle system can only carry the boring story line so far.
pmaster4 (on 23 October 2007)
indeed one of the best games, a must buy. Excellent gameplay and story. Really loved the battle system
adajio (on 23 October 2007)
One of the greatest games I have ever played. It's amazing (again, and again, and again....)
Soriku (on 10 August 2007)
AWESOME GAME! MUST BUY! 10/10
