| AstroMaSSi (on 21 January 2012) Tekken what??? | |
| Solid-Stark (on 30 May 2011) Falco FTW! | |
| Galvanizer (on 11 April 2011) This is even better than Super Smash Bros. Brawl. My fave game on GameCube. I've put hundreds of hours into this game! :-) | |
| newwil7l (on 31 January 2011) great franchise just as good as brawl and my second favorite game for game cube after thousand year door | |
| narutoblockhead (on 27 March 2010) omg BEST GAME 4 THE GAMECUBE | |
| Samara360 (on 22 December 2009) Man me and my cousins used to play this for hours, such a good game | |
| fazz (on 21 December 2009) I had some high level, lightning mode Melee yesterday... it was so good, but I don't have the stamina from back in the day. | |
| legendarysaiyanbroly (on 07 November 2009) What an overrated and lousy game this is,... it becomes very boring very fastly, just like the other 2 for n64 and wii. The only remarkable thing about this 1 are the graphics... should've bought Luigi's Mansion, instead! | |
| Red4ADevil (on 23 October 2009) I remember popping this in a few months ago and have i forgoten how faster the charaters were. I was getting my ass kicked here and there but still managed to win. Ill never forget the first trailer in that promo disc it was in. Still have it too. | |
| TheConduit (on 06 July 2009) Had the highest attach rate for a sixth generation console | |
| Spedfrom (on 23 May 2009) I will never get the appeal of SSB. Hardly touched it. | |
| BladeOfGod (on 20 March 2009) This game sold damn well. Userbase was only 22 million. If GameCube sold like wii is selling, it would probably outsell SSBB | |
| shizzlee (on 26 January 2009) I've been playing Brawl so much that I forgot how to wavedash and cpu owns me now T_T That never used to happen. | |
| Thechalkblock (on 21 January 2009) So many memories. | |
| Omega_Phazon_Pirate. (on 29 December 2008) I found Brawl to be superior to Melee. I hated how the fast characters had the huge advantage over the slow characters. That wasn't the case in Brawl >.>. Only thing people find rigged are Meta Knight and Snake (I don't really understand Snake). It's true that beginners will have an easier time with Brawl, but that means that (hopefully) more people would come to the competitive scene. Needless to say, all Smashes are great games. | |
| trestres (on 13 October 2008) No longer the best selling game in the series. | |
| brute (on 07 September 2008) Possibly my most played GC games. It's between this and RE4,I won RE4 over 100 times. | |
| MANUELF (on 07 September 2008) My favorite and most played game on the GC. | |
| SHMUPGurus (on 06 September 2008) Yep, I totally agree with you LemonManX. Brawl introduced a new concept to the series: Defensive play (it takes a MUCH bigger role in this game). What the heck was wrong with the fast paced action of Melee? :/ | |
| LemonManX (on 19 August 2008) Ah Melee, the superior game to Brawl. But that's because I enjoyed it's competitive side much more than Brawl's. | |
| MontanaHatchet (on 18 August 2008) Of course Brawl is better, it's like an expansion pack to Melee. | |
| c03n3nj0 (on 15 August 2008) I actually didint like this game, I loved brawl though... | |
| johnlucas (on 27 July 2008) Need to go back to my Melee to spruce up on my Brawl skills. Some original Super Smash Bros. too. | |
| bigjon (on 23 July 2008) This was an awsome game, but I must say that Brawl is better. | |
| NintendoMan (on 21 July 2008) Nintendo said it had shipped 7.09 million so its sales are not wildly skewed high or anything. | |
| SaviorX (on 12 July 2008) I don't remember sales being this high....... | |
| koopatrooper (on 26 June 2008) good bye melee and welcome brawl! | |
| Jeronimo (on 18 June 2008) Great game still playing it sometimes, but just 9 more days for Brawl to be released in Europe! | |
| PabloV (on 14 May 2008) still playing it here in europe, as soon as brawl comes i'll try it out! | |
| Riot Of The Blood (on 28 April 2008) I did not like this game. | |
| MeowTheMouse (on 28 April 2008) melee > brawl = Fact | |
| nathantay (on 16 April 2008) Better than the first. 8/10 | |
| SuperSteveyLes (on 24 March 2008) Until Brawl is released, I might just dig this game out and kick some butt. Love playing as Link, Marth, Roy, Mario, Falco, Kirby, etc. Who are your favourite characters? | |
| supermariouniverse (on 17 March 2008) Wow, sales for this game went up. About time this game was shown above Mario Kart: Double Dash!! | |
| kopstudent89 (on 14 March 2008) did the sales of some gamecube games just go up?? melee is uo by abt 400 k! | |
| OmegaRugalv3 (on 11 March 2008) This, MK DD and Mario Sunshine all got their totals raised overall. | |
| T013 (on 06 March 2008) This game is a classic that has redefined my definition of gaming. Undeniable masterpiece. | |
| NYANKS (on 04 March 2008) This game is God. | |
| weezy (on 24 February 2008) I dont know about you guys but this game gave me an epic boner when i first played it | |
| Thatmax (on 21 February 2008) greatest multiplayer game to date... until i play brawl ;) | |
| Phoenix_Wiight (on 21 February 2008) i stil havnt got Diskun, im missing that and 2 others i think | |
| supermariouniverse (on 17 February 2008) Finally got all of the trophies.. man, that took a long time, but it was worth it. | |
| supermariouniverse (on 15 February 2008) I have been playing this game lately to get all of the trophies before Brawl comes out. Right now I am missing only one: The Diskun Trophy. This is one hard trophy to get! :( | |
| saveren (on 14 February 2008) The Wind Waker is the best. | |
| StarcraftManiac (on 11 February 2008) 3rd week of Brawl in Japan = total sales of Brawl top Melee in Japan. wOOt! Total Wii sales are already 1 million + above Gamecube's Japan total 1 year after launch! | |
| Punisher (on 09 February 2008) Good game nevertheless. 9/10. Hopefully we won't see that big release gap with Brawl. | |
| kopstudent89 (on 05 February 2008) wow brawl is gonna outsell this in a month, maybe less!(only in japan) | |
| MANUELF (on 02 February 2008) The second best figthing game ever, first si Brawl. | |
| zackblue (on 27 January 2008) I actually bought this game for $29.99 in best buy yesterday, I must say its one of the best Gamecube games ever released. | |
| supermariouniverse (on 26 January 2008) It is amazing how this game never got old after all of these years. In fact, I was playing this game a couple of days ago and having a blast. | |
| Kasz216 (on 26 January 2008) I always liked Sheik. However that's because i liked to play up the randomness and do stock battles which involved dodging and making good use out of whatever items popped up. | |
| SleepWaking (on 25 January 2008) I don't have to wonder, Leo-j hasn't played it without a doubt. | |
| Girl Gamer Elite (on 24 January 2008) Really have to wonder if Leo has even played it. | |
| kopstudent89 (on 21 January 2008) dun know why always liked yoshi, but link is definately my fav! it was such an awesome game, totally addictive | |
| FelmanX (on 09 January 2008) still play it to this day | |
| Shido (on 01 January 2008) Marth and Samus, best characters on Melee and that is a fact because I said so. And I haven unlocked the DK stage yet, damn. | |
| Roflinator (on 01 January 2008) The hell, leo-j? The game is too short? There's alot of crap to unlock. And to this day I don't have everything unlocked, I'm still missing atleast 60 or so trophies, the DK classic stage and Sound Test. And lack of ONLINE KILLS IT? The gamecube never had online compatibility. It's not the game's fault. :/ | |
| Psychoace (on 31 December 2007) Best fighting game ever....period. I main good old Captain Falcon you guys should come check out smashboards.com if you want to get really good. | |
| Nintendo Fan Girl (on 13 December 2007) My best character is... Zelda. ZELDA RULEZ.^_^ | |
| RCTjunkie (on 04 December 2007) My best character is... Peach! She taught me how to master my defensive skills. ;) | |
| koopatrooper (on 04 December 2007) its a graet game but the original (n64 version) is the best | |
| elprincipe (on 26 November 2007) This is the best game of the last generation, and I still play it all the time with friends. This is why I bought four GameCube controllers and it's why I'll still have those same four controllers (a lot of wear though!) when Brawl comes out! It's amazing how much they improved this game from the original SSB, it was developed more than any other fighting game sequel. | |
| Edouble24 (on 26 November 2007) lol Dreamcast had a lot more than one online game. Of course online isn't that big of a deal if you have friends. Melee is the best multiplayer game ever and that's the bottom line. | |
| Aidman (on 24 November 2007) " where there is Link there is a Legend " that said, so if Link is in the game so indeniably the game became a Legend just like Soul Calibure II ( The GC Version ). 10/10 | |
| MontanaHatchet (on 30 October 2007) There is no way to describe how amazing this game is. It's not perfect in any way, yet it's fun in every way. Given me a good six years with my friends and family. I love you Melee. | |
| KillerMan (on 23 October 2007) Best game on GC. I love this. 10/10 | |
| koopatrooper (on 22 October 2007) hey naznatips and deathbeast the first console with online gaming was the n 64 with the dd drive so shut up nintendo was first | |
| Linkasf (on 17 October 2007) I still play this game every week and it has been years! :) 10/10. | |
| eddie182 (on 04 October 2007) Great game. The depth of the multi-player is immense. It just doesn't get old. Brawl will be the best selling game worldwide this generation in the long run. | |
| eddie182 (on 04 October 2007) Great game. The depths of the multi-player is immense. It just doesn't get old. Brawl will be the best selling game worldwide this generation in the long run. | |
| YeahDude!!! (on 16 September 2007) This game deserves a better score. Almost perfect game. | |
| Maverick Hunter Z (on 29 July 2007) Best fighting game ever in my opinion, but then again I was never big on traditional fighting games so I can't really voice myself as a bastion of objectivity on that matter. 7/10 | |
| deathbeast (on 09 July 2007) leoj you idiot, none of the consoles except dreamcast even had online when this game was released. | |
| naznatips (on 29 June 2007) I should add that there was actually ONE console game with online before this: Phantasy Star Online on Dreamcast. | |
| naznatips (on 29 June 2007) ... this game was made before online play EXISTED in console games... I hate stupid fanboys. I really do. It's not short, it's a multiplayer game, with some 40 hours of gameplay to unlock everyone. You have never played this game, stop being an idiot. | |
| leo-j (on 29 June 2007) I love this game but too short in my opinion, and lack of online play really kills it | |
| DonWii (on 28 June 2007) There is a review section... | |
| Parokki (on 26 June 2007) This game is the only reason I'm back into console gaming. Seriously, back in autumn 2005 the last console I had owned was the NES and, aside from playing MGS and some others on my brother's PS2, I was 100% a PC gamer. Then I happened to play Super Smash Bros. Melee at a certain allnighter geek event during the winter and was totally hooked on it. Within a few weeks I had bought a used Gamecube for practically nothing, a few controllers and my dear, dear Melee. That quickly turned into buying a pile of other GC games and the rest is history. It's perfect. The controls are spot on right, the music is probably the best in any game ever, and even more amazingly it still looks gorgeous 6 years after release. It's simple enough for a beginner to pick up the pad and have some idea what to do, but such enormous depth that the tournament scene is still alive and kicking. Definitely still a fighting game, but different enough to be refreshing to any veteran of the genre. Unless they've already decided it's not a "real" fighter anyway. =P Brawl will probably take the cake after it gets released, but it will never have a similar influence on my gaming. | |
| Fuzzmosis (on 26 June 2007) Took a great multiplayer concept, smoothed it out and added new charecters. Though some fighting game purists would say it's far too simplistic, they really have no idea how big a skill difference can be shown in this game. |
