Chew Man Fu - Summary

The evil Chew Man Fu (the head villain of this game, named in his honor), has cursed the Egg Roll Kingdom, robbing it of egg rolls, fried rice, and other favorite foods.  You alone have the power to save the kingdom!  Chew Man Fu was released for the TurboGrafx in 1990, and if you missed this charming little puzzle game back then, you owe it to yourself to get it on the Wii™ Virtual Console™ now! It’s one of the cutest games around, filled with enough gaming goodness that it really hooks you in.

In Chew Man Fu, you must make your way through over 50 action-filled levels.  In each, you must roll 4 glowing spheres onto the colored tiles that match each sphere.  Of course, it isn’t just as simple as rolling these balls around the board; Chew Man Fu has sent minions, including porcupines, turtles, and gorillas, after you.  To defeat them, you can kick the spheres at them, but beware: they’ll reappear after a short while.  Now, it’s only natural that something that glows has magical power, right?  Each of the 4 spheres (red, green, blue, and black) has a special power, but it’s up to you to discover them! This sort of unique puzzle solving element made each level unique and really makes you think more than a typical arcade game.
