Look at how many versions of A/V receivers Sony makes, or BD players, TVs, etc. (and look at the price ranges!)  Do you honestly believe that the PSP Go doesn't fit into this same bucket?  Suggesting that it doesn't is, basically, defying decades old logic in electronics manufacturing -- you better have some serious facts to back up the expectation that the PSP Go is anything more than a demographics expansion unit.   The Go is an alternate unit.  It, basically, cannot fail thanks to its price point.  Claiming its a "failure" is laughable, since there is no logic, whatsoever, that backs the claim.  The DSi is an improved device (with 2x the processing muscle, and 4x the memory of previous DS models -- it is basically a DS v1.5).  The PSP Go is not.  You cannot compare the two releases.  The DSi vs the DSi LL, however, is a valid comparison -- fundamentally they are only a different form factor, just like the PSP-3000 and PSP Go, as far as new buyers are concerned.

One key point is wrong though. The new buyers would also find out games for PSP Go are only available digitally unless you are suggesting people buy PSP Go without knowing it.

Naw, PSP's actually doing well in Japan.  They'll just release the 4000 next year and quietly sweep go under the rug PSX style.
