Leaked Image Surfaces for Modern Warfare 3 "Hardened Edition"

After the jump is an image sent by anonymous source to Wired.com. It appears to show a European “Hardened” Edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

The “Hardened Edition” will ship with a year of free membership to Call of Duty Elite, unique disc art, a collectible steel case and a 100-page “field journal” packed with Call of Duty sketches and diagrams.

Other benefits visible on the image include “Founder status” on Elite with exclusive in-game emblem, player card, camouflage, and clan XP boost. PlayStation Network exclusive: “Animated Timeline Theme.” Xbox 360 exclusive: “Special Ops Juggernaut Xbox Live Outfit.” Limited edition “field journal” with more than 100 pages of “authentic military sketches, diagrams and written entries.”

The image shows a European release but previous Limited Edition Call of Duty releases haven’t shown any difference between European and U.S. versions.

We know Activision will officially announce the Hardened edition at their Call of Duty XP event this weekend in L.A. Our own editor, Chris M. Arnone will be in attendance there. Until he can confirm or deny the authenticity of this image, this bit of news should stay in your rumor file.

with little more than 2 months to go before release, im sure it wasnt "leaked" : / idiots. it was most likely released to promote this, cause just leaking an over priced kit with some toys is a leak? a leak is the story was told, all multiplayer additions are listed, something but just a pic of this? really? It is most likely due to all the publicity BF3 is getting, cause that multiplayer trailer of the caspien border is insane! im still geting MW3 but not for awhile and not on launch.
